MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF THE UNITED
CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT THE VILLAGE HALL, YORKVILLE
{ILLINOIS, ON THURSDAY NOVEMBER 14, 1957AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call the roll
Upon the roll being taken the following Aldermen were present:

Minutes of the regular monthly meeting of the Mayor and Aldermen held November 14,

The !Mayor referred the bills to the finance com-littee; the same to be paid if
found Correct.
The report of the Future Planning committee was pr rented and a discussion there
on (see re^ort on following page) .
The Police committee su Fested that Chief of Police rranklin ',iartyn Sr to have
wede-sday as his day off instead of I'hurdday and to run the timer on both sides
of the river.
The Police report for the month of October was r ad and ordered approved.
A general discussion was held as to parking of cars on both sides of Somonauk
Stre'%t in front of the grade school. The committee was instructed to study the
problem and take their recommendations to the grade school board.
The B,iilding Committee was instructed to make up a list of recommendations to
revise the building code to cover both the Bourghs of Yorkville and Bristol.
The t.'ater Committee a instructed to try and locate a downtovn _locatmon for the
collection of water bills and also the sale of wheel tax stickers and dog tax.
The Treasure's report for October was read and ap^roved.
On motion by alderman Hughes seconded by Alderman Mitchell to ihcrease the Lib-
al_ity insurance from 20/40 to 50/100. On roll being taken the following Alder-
men voted Aye: Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trummel, H�.yden and Mitchel. Nayes-N ne
Carried and so ordered. ^
On motion by Alderman Hayden seconded by Alderman Mitchel that the low bidder do
the repair work on the sidewalk on East Reidge St. at the r'orsell home. The pay-
ment to be on a 50-50 basis between the city, and rorsells. On roll being taken
the following Aldermen voted Aye Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trummel, Hayden and
Mitchel, The following voted Nay- none. Carried.
James E. Price r^ad the report on the Street and Alleys and the Water dept. which
were approved.
On motion of AldermanHayden, seconded by Alderman Mitchell that the City Attorney
draw up a Pin ball ordinance to present at the next regular meeting. Unon roll
being taken the following aldermen voted Aye, Hughes, =°Zadden, Randles, Trummel,

Hayden and Mitchel. �he following voted Naye- none. Carried and so ordered.
The Health Committee was instructed to meet with Frank Calabrese t.concerning his
septic tank emptying into the creek draining said property.
The City attorney was instructed to study means of collecting sales tax in the
Borough of Bristol.
On motion of Alderman Trummel seconded by Alderman Hughes that the problem of
garbage collection be put on the ballot in the next referndum. `or the peroid
of January lst to April 30th the hauling of garbage be put on contract with the
letting of said contract December 12 1957. Upon roll being taken the following
Aldermen voted Aye, nughes, Madden, kandles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchel. Nayes
none. Carried and so ordered.
There being no furthur business to discuss the meeting was adjourned.
