have to purchase the same brand of equipment as other -t wns in

6. ) r
The main issuelis getting the fire siren changed over by March
1. Graff spoke with the Fire Chief. We need to do seine
educational staff for the public. We should do something at
the schools, neighborhood watch meetings and WSPY. Th: re will
be some sharedcost for the City. The siren at the fire barn
will be tied into KenCom. Both warning airens need tolsound
the same. All; the cable companies have been mandated by the
Federal Governgent that they must interrupt all programs when
there are storm warnings. We do have solid numbers sc' If
someone would like to annex we can show them the cost d make
suggestions. if Graff doesn't get something from the dire
chief by Monday or Tuesday, then he will send a letter
7.) human Resource! Commission - Review the Proposed Ordinance -

There needs tdt be directional goals. Sticka recommendFrA

We have not gotten much direction from the school boat The
school board has not made any attempts to accept this report
because they were getting new people. Before we do mu6h with

looking into this. Kane and DuPage Counties have one lin placer.
You can provide a protocol that say you will do what its in tha:
protocol and if you say no, you need to give a reason.)
Investigating ;is problem solving. CPAT can come in and do al:.

g
Graff would like to remove agenda for 60-90 days and br
once he has a chance to gather some information. This as to
have a policy inn place. Graff is working on getting copies of
protocols.
New Business
i
1. ) Discuss the Proposed Police Facility P1i3n - Nanninga calk Graff
for the size of the Game Farm house. Total space is 2,,144 not
including the bathrooms. Graff has been looking at some new
trends with security. Interview rooms would be for suspects
only. There would not be any holding cells. We work o well
with the County that right now there is no reason not to
continue usingitheir facilities. The plims that have been .
drawn up may have to be stamped by an architect. We need to
find out for sure and find out what the cost will be. There i ;
some room for growth. The new design shows the City Ei. gineers
in the main building. (They would be moved from Tower Lane. )
We are looking for efficiency. We need to determine the
changes and the cost of the changes. We are looking a.t adding
a basement. We should contact Scott Hill first because he did
the plans originally. Graff would like a sally port to be
included in thi3 bid package.
2. ) Discuss FY98/99 Budget - Kot is wondering how the bud_Tet
process works. Nanninga will ask the department heads- Ito get
their proposed budgets turned into him. He will go ov?r them
with the Mayor and then he will send back to the department fcr
the final revision. The budget does nct normally go to the
committee. Graff normally works with Graff. Graff would like
to make sure everyone is aware of the squad car issue. Squad
cars are ,the first priority and then M1 V s. We should get
money from Undesser in April. Kot feels that we are looking at;
two separate budgets until our h ousing- issues -are deeded.
Prochaska suggest figuring out the operating cost, bec: use yot
have to have s;o much to operate. Then capital expenditures ardl
those need toibe prioritized. Graff will do a report Text week
and will have Isome numbers at the next meeting.
Additional Business - Letter About Noise on Sanders Court -
This was discussed. Graff could remember what was det-Aded.
Graff will check into it. The noise wits coming from a home.
The people coriplaining would have had to sign a complaint.
Then it would have been handled as a d.:sorderly conduct call.
;Barking dogs is a nuisance. Graff will. need to check into
threatening dogs. Graff is looking into mediation conflict.
Graff should Piave a report at next meeting.
i
Next meeting is scheduled for January 27, 1998.
