ILLINOIS 60560 630-553-4340 Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes for February 10, 1997 Meeting called to order by Chairman Callmer at 6:32PM. Members present: Alderman Burt Callmer Alderman Jeff Baker Alderman Tom Sowinski Mayor Bob Johnson Chief Anton Graff. Alderman Callmer requested a motion for an executive session to interview candidates for the Lieutenant position. Executive Session motion by Alderman Baker, seconded by Alderman Sowinski at 6:34PM, 2/10/97. The motion was for personnel selection, hiring, dismissal of personnel: Re. Lieutenant Promotion -- Oral Interviews - include Chief Graff in the executive session. Furthermore Sgt. Diederich, Sgt. Sibenaller, and Sgt. Martin will be interviewed separately. Motion seconded by Alderman Sowinski. Motion approved. Members present were Alderman Callmer, Baker, Sowinski, and Mayor Johnson. Public Safety Committee meeting back in session at 8:25PM. Chairman Callmer announced no action taken in executive session. Next Public Safety Committee meeting would be February 26, 1997. Motion to adjourn by Alderman Baker, second by Alderman Sowinski. ILLINOIS 60560 630-553-4340 Public Safety Meeting - February 10, 1997 Executive Session Minutes - by Chief Anton L. Graff The executive session began with Sgt. Diederich's oral interview, at 6:35PM. The interview was conducted by Aldennan Sowinski who asked Sgt. Diederich three prepared questions. The interview was completed at 6:50PM. Sgt. Diederich exited the executive session and the members present reviewed the interview from 6:50PM to 7:03PM. The second oral interview began with Sgt. Sibenaller at 7:03PM. The interview was conducted by Alderman Sowinski who asked Sgt. Sibenaller the same three prepared questions. The interview was completed at 7:19PM. Sgt. Sibenaller exited the executive session and the members present reviewed the interview from 7:19PM to 7:27PM. The third oral interview began with Sgt. Martin at 7:30PM. The interview was conducted by Aldennan Sowinski who asked Sgt. Martin the same three prepared questions. The interview was completed at 7:45PM. Sgt. Martin exited the executive session and the members present reviewed the interview from 7:45PM to 8:OOPM. The members discussed the oral interview process and what was the next step to recommend to the Mayor for promotion. The committee wanted to review their notes and the essay questions which were submitted by each candidate. The committee had no action and planned on discussing this matter further at the next Public Safety Committee meeting, on February 26, 1997 in executive session.
