Discussion was held concerning the items below as identified by
number:
1. December Police Reports
Chief Graff distributed to the Committee the Vehicle usage
report along with the monthly manhour report. He also informed
the Committee that the officer's 6 month evaluations have been
done.
2 . Crime Report Trends for 191, 192, & 193
Chief Graff presented a review of the trends of crimes for the
past three years. Included in this were the trends of:
a. Traffic Accidents
b. Burglary
c. Control Substance
d. Violent Crimes
e. Alcohol related crimes
This was presented to the Committee as a review only, a final
report will be distributed at a later date.
3 . The payroll report for December 21, 1993 was distributed to the
Committee.
4 . Liquor Ordinance Review
Chief Graff reviewed North Aurora's Liquor Ordinance/Public
Indecency policy with the Committee as an example. After
discussion it was decided by the Committee that Chief Graff
should let Attorney Kramer review it and make up one Ordinance
that includes the rules of the reporting of crimes in a liquor
establishment w/in 48 hrs. , the policy of alcohol presence in
City Parks, as well as the Public Indecency issue. This was
tabled until next month for approval by the Committee, and then
will be presented to the Committee of the Whole.
5. December financial report
Chief Graff distributed the report on the fines for the month
of December to the Committee.
6. Strategic Goal Review
Chief Graff gave the Committee a second draft of the
Department's Strategic Goals. More manpower and a new facility
for the Department were the two items that were stressed as a
necessity.
7. Chief Graff informed the Committee that Attorney Kramer is
still reviewing the Anti-Gang Activity Ordinance. The target
date for review is w/in the next 30 days.
8. Police Hiring Supplement Grant
Chief Graff received notification that the application
submitted meets the specified requirements.
9. Chief Graff notified the Committee that IDOT will be doing a
traffic study for speed control at Rt. 34 & Rt. 47 as suggested
at the December meeting. This will be discussed further at the
next meeting.
10. Chief Graff informed the Committee that officers have issued
warning tickets to local business establishments that have
flashing signs.
11. FY 94/95 Budget
Chief Graff informed the Committee a first draft of the Police
Budget will be available at the February meeting.
12. The February meeting was scheduled for Wednesday February 2,
1994 at 5:30 at the Yorkville City Hall.
