- INUTES OF THE Ri'GULAR MONTHLY MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN
F THE UNITED CITY OF THE VILLAGE OF YOHKVILLE, ILLINOIS, HELD AT
THE VILLAGE HALL, YORKVILLE, ILLINOIS, ON THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 12,
1957, AT 8:00 P.M.
Mayor Windett called the meeting to order and directed the City
Clerk to call the roll. Upon the roll being taken the following
ldermen were present:
1st Ward- Russell Hughes
Elden Madden
2nd Ward- William Randles
Delbert Trummel
3rd Ward- Duane Hayden
Richard Mitchell
The following Aldermen were absent: none.
nutes of the organizational meeting for the United City of the
illage of Yorkville were read by the Clerk and approved as read.
nutes of the last meeting of the Village Board of the Borough of
Yorkville and the Borough of Bristol were also road and the Clerk
as directed to file these minutes along with the minutes of the
rganizational meeting
Mayor Windett then appointed the following committees for the
current year; the first named pe son to act as chairman of the
espectile committees:

he Mayor then referred the bills to the finance committee; the same to be
aid if found correct.
e drawing of lots for terns of office of the Aldermen, having been defOrred
ntil this meeting due to the absence of Alderman Hughes at the last meeting,
pon motion by Alderman Madden, seconded by Alderman Mitchell, the drawing of
ots for terms of office was held. The following being the results of said
drawing:
lst Ward- Alderman Hug'oes drew the fcur year term of office
Ilderman Madsen drew the two-:year term of office
2nd Ward- Alderman Randles drew the four year term of office
M,. Alderman Trummel drew the two year tev-m of office
3rd 'Hard- Alderman Hayden drew the four year term of office
Alderman "itchell drew the two year term of office
lderman Mad'en then called for a vote by the board confirming the results of
aid drawing. Upon the roll being taken the following alderman voted aye:
Alderman Hughes, Madden, handles, Trummel, Hayden and ',l_tchell. Nayes none
Carried and so ordered.
A Discussion was then had regal-ding extending the 15 minute parking zone on
Vanhmmon Street and upon moti_n by Alderman Randles, seconded by Alderman
Hughes, that the 15 minute parking zone on VanEmmon Street be extened from
Route 47 to the East to the 'End of the Business zone as shown on the zoning
map. Upon the roll being taken Aldermen Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trummel, H yden
and Mitchell voted aye. Nayes: none. harried and so credered.
Alderman Hayden then Moved, seconded by Alderman %Fitchell, that a "No-Outlet
bign be posted on King and West Main Street and that "Yield-Right%_�Of-Way"
signs be place of Church Street, Somonauk Street and King Street where the
same meet the Game F.°..rm Road. Upon roll being taken the following Aldermen
voted aye: Alderman Hughes, i',1adlen, Randles, Trummel, Hayden, and Mitchell;
Nayes: none. Carried and so ordered.
Mayor 4indett instructed the committee on Streets and Alleys to study the
duplication of names of streets in the Borough of Yorkville and Bristol and
to recommend the changing of names and setting up of street numbers.
Mayor Windett instructed the future planning committee to bring in recommen-
dations concerning sub-divisions r gulation ordinance.
A Plat of Price's lst Sub-Division to the Village of Yorkville was then
presented, and after discussion being had, said plat was acdepted wit!, the
following resolution which was presented by Alderman Hughes, seconded by
Alderman Mitchell:
Resolved, that the City of Yorkvillec accept the Plat of Price's 1st
Sub-Division to Yorkville, upon condition that the sub-divider provide
a street with an eight-inch base, a minimun of 16 feet wide and also
providdd that the said sub-divedet provided, at his own expense, water
from Mill Street, the length of the N w steeet in the Sub-Division.
Upon roll being called, the following Aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Madden,
Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. Nayes: none. Carried and so ordered
The City clerk then read the police report for the month of August and said
report was approved as read.
James Price, Superintendent of Streets and Alleys and Water, then made a
report on the water and streets and alleys which renort was approved.
Mayor Windett referred to the Building and Zoning Committee, the need for
both the Boroughs of Yorkville and Bristol to have the same building code.
Mayor Windett also instructed the water committee to study means of install. g
water in the Borough of Bristol.
Alderman Mitchell moved seconded by Alderman Hayden, that the garbage pick-u
for the Borough of Bristol shall continue through Until October 1, 1957. Up n
the roll being called the following Aldermen voted aye: Hughes, Madden, Rand es
Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. Nayes: none. Carreid and so ordered.
Discussion was had regarding a vehicle tax_ for both the Borough of Bristol d
the borough of Yorkville and it wa:> recommended that the City Attorney draft
a proposed vehicle tax ordinance to go into effect not latter than Januaryl, 195E
Alderman Randles moved, seconded by Alderman Hgghes, that the judges and cle ks
for the election receive the sum of $10.00, for serving as such election. Tie
election being the election for eollecting,;officers for the United City of tie
Village of Yorkville. Upon the roll being called, the following Aldermen vo ed
aye: Hughes, Madden, handles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell. Nayes: none,
carried and so ordered.
Alderman Trummel then moved, seconded by Alderman Mitchell, that the electio
commissioners and the Clerk of the election commission also receive the sum f
$10.00 a piece for services rendered in their capacity as election commissio ers
and clerk. Upon the roll being called, the following Aldermen voted Aye:
Hughes, Madden, Randles, Trunmell, Hayden and Mitchell. Nayes: none. Uarrie
and so ordered.
There being no further business to come before thet4eeting, upon motion of
Alderman Randles, seconded by Alderman Madden, the meeting was adjourned.
