Upon roll being taken the following Aldenren were present: 1st Ward - Elden Iiadden 2nd Ward - William Randlds Delbert Trunmel 3rd Ward - Duane Hayden Richard Titchell ;j The following Aldermen were absent: lst Ward - Russell Hughes. d The City Clerk, Wayne Larson, informed the T,Zayor that ;notice had been given to all officers of thier election as pro- j' vided by law and that the oaths of all the Aldermen, j'layor, Clerk Hand Treasurer had been filed in his office as well as the bonds of all officers except that of Clerk, and the Treasurer reported that the bond of the Clerk had been filed in his office. -The lbond of the Mayor was then presented and upon motion by Alderman 1. Rangles, seconded by Alderman Hayden said bond was approved. The bond of the Clerk was then presented and upon motion by Alderman Ti?itchell, seconded by Alderman Trummel said bond , was approved. The bond of the Treasurer was then presented and upon ( motion by Alderman Hayden, seconded by Alderman Mitchell said F' bond was approved. Upon attempting to comply with the provision of law re- 9lative to terms of office of elected aldermen and because of lithe absence of Alderman Hughes, Alderman Hayden moved, Alderman IL'itchell seconded the motion that the drawing of lots for terms ' of office by the Aldermen be continued until the next regular ,!,meeting. i Alderman 171adden then presented the following resolution: ,! Be it resolved that the regular meetings of the united city of ;, the Village of Yorkville be held on the second Tbhrsday of each hand every month at 8 p.m. at the Village Hall in the Borough of , Yorkville, And be it further resolved that if the meeting date ' shall fall upon a holiday the regular meeting shall be held on ; the next succeeding night. j Upon motion by Alderman Mitchell, seconded by Alderman Trummel the said resolution was unanimously adopted. " to# Mayor Windett nominated C. Robert Ohse as city attorney 11be paid a retainer of $20.00 per month plus billing the city for extra legal services performed. On motion by Alderman Randles, 1seeonded by Alderman Trummel the appointment was confirmed. The council and mayor voted jointly and unanimously aye. Mayor Windett nominated James Price for Superintendent of NStreets;and Alleys, Superintendent of Water, and special patrolmed Ito receive and be paid as compensation for the same, a salary of ; $100.00 per week. Said salary to be paid 50% from the general 11 fund and 50,5 from the water fund. In addition thereto said emplo - Iiee shall be entitled to a 2 week vacation with pay and credited E1with 1 day sick leave per. month accumulative up to and not exceed i f ing 14 days. Upon motion by Alderman Hayden, seconded by Aldermai Randles the appointment was confirmed. The Council and mayor I voted jointly and unanimously aye . 'I Mayor Windett nominated Franklyn Kartyn, Sr. , for Chief of Police at the salary of $3,300,00 per year plus $900.00 per year for police car expenses. Said salary and expenses to be paid at s the rate of .„275.00 per month salary and 475.00 per month expense He shall be entitle& to 2 -,:weeks paid vacation per year and cred - ed for 1 day sick leave per month accumulative up to and not ex- ceeding 14 days. Upon motion by Alderman %sadden, seconded by ' Alderman Taitchell the appointment was confirmed. The council jand mayor voted jointly and unanimously aye. Mayor Windett nominated Robert Smith as Building Inspecto to serve at the pleasure of the council and to be paid a minimum of '1r=.00 per building application with authority to hire deputies �Iwhen necessary. Any deputies shall receive minimum compensation of ', 5.00 per inspection. Upon motion by Alderman Llitchel , secorl- ed by Alderman Randles the appointment was confirmed. The mayor and council voted jointly and unanimously aye. Vayor ffindett nominated Jess Dunkle as patrolman at the salary of ',1.75 per hour police salary plus police car expenses X1.00 per day. Upon motion by Alderman Hayden, seconded by Alde man Trummel the appointment was confirmed. The Mayor and the council voted jointly and unanimously aye . Upon motion by Alderman 1y1itchell, seconded by Alderman I Hai den, which motion was carried by the following roll call vote, j that all appointed city officials whose bond�has not heretofore been fixed shall file and have approved a �.�100.00 bond. Roll ioall: yes--Aldermen Madden, Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell . I nayes--None. Roger H. Clark was unanimously selected as special counsel on organization matters and Alderman Randles teen introduced the following resolution; It appearing as a practical matter in order to market revenue and other obligations of this City, that the validity of the union of the Villa ,es of Yorkville and Bristol and organization of this City by passed upon by recognized exa miners of such ob- °' ligations: how therefore be it resolved that the City Attorney and special counsel be and they are authorized to take all necessary steps to the end that such organization meet the approNal of Messrs, Chapman and Cutler, Attorneys of Chicago, Illinois, E� examiners of municipal obligations, and they may on behalf of this City procure the opinion of said attorneys as to the organs - j� tion. Alderman Mitchell moved and Alderman P:iadden seconded, I which motion was carried by the following roll call vote, that t foregoing resolution be adopted. Roll call: yes--Aldermeniadd Randles, Trummel, Hayden and Mitchell, nayes--I?one. Alde-imian Randles then introduced the following resolution: Be it resolved that the Farmers State Bank of Yorkville , Illinoi !I and the Yorkville Fational 13an" of Yol.'l,,ville , Ill�_nois �)e depositor- ies for the city funds. Alderman Trummel moved and Alderman ��ayden seconded, whic motion was crrried by the following roll call vote, that the fore e- going resolution be adopted. Roll Call: ayes - Aldermen I-'Iadden, Randles, Trunvnel, hayden, and Mitchell, Mayes - None, On motion nade by Alderman Hayden, seconded by Alderman , Triammel, and unanimously carried, the minutes of the meetings p' of the Villages (Boroughs) of Yorkville and Bristol were approved I and adopted, particularly as to the fixing of salaries, I Roll call: ayes - Aldermen Madden, Randles, Trurrael, Hayden, !� and Ilitchell. ila;;�es - Leone.
