City Council Minutes 1957 05-06-57 May 6, 1957 The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois including those elected at the Regular Election held April 16, 1957 not at the Village Ran of said Village. Upon the adjournment of the Retiring Board of Trustees on May S. 1957. The Clerk stated that all newly elected Officers have subscribed and swore to the oaths of their respect- ive offices and have filAd& all requirements for qualifications of their respective offices: whereupon *ka President Windett call-Ad the new Beard of Trustees and directed the Clerk to call the roll Present on the Roll Call - President Windett, Trustees Hughes, Olsen, Olson, Randles, Schobert and Trummel and Clerk Merkel. President Windett nominated Marilyn Gauer for Village Treasurer Her bond to be fixed. at $35,000.00 with the provision that liabiltty 'shall not extend to Bank failure and her salary shall b ixed at $20.00 per month, 55% from the Water Fund and 45% from ' the General Fund. On motion by Randles-seconded Fay Trustee Olson that the above appointment be approved. Roll :Call- Presiden* and Trustees voting jointly. Naye6= None- President Windett nominated C.Robert Ohee for Village Attorney to be paid a Retainer of $20.00 per month plus the right to"Billy for extra Legal services performed. On motion by Trustee Olsen - seconded by Trustee Hughes that the above appointment be approved. Roll Call- President and Trustees voting jointly. Ayes- President Windett, Trustees Hughes, Olson, O1son,Randles Schobert and Trammel. Nayes- None Carried. President Winditt nominated James r.Prics for Supt. of Streets and Alleys, Supt. of Water Dept. , Special Police at the salary 1of :410Q.00 per week. No compensation for any extra labor in the 8treet and Alley or Water Departments. Payable 50$ General Fund and 500 Water Fund with the following provisi6ns that the above employee is subject to one week vacation for one year service wit ;the Pillage, two weeks vacation for two or more years service with 'the Village with pay also subject to one day sick leave with pay for each month employed by the Village, accumlative up to not to exceed It+ days. May S, 1957 T President Windett nominated Franklin Martyn Sr. for Village Marshall and Chief of Police at the salary of $3300.00 per year plus expense of $900.00 per year for Police Car operation, this being; at the rate of $275.00 per month salary and $75.00 per menth for Police Car expense with the following provisions that the above employee is is subject to one week vacation for one year service, two weeks vacation for two or more years service with th Village: one day sick leave accumlative withMy for each month employed by the Village up-4o not to exceed days. On motion by Trustee Hughes accented by Trustee Handles that the above appointment be approved. Roll Call.- President and Trustees voting jointly. President Windett nominated Jess Dunkle for Special Duty Marshall at the salary of $1.50 per hour plus expense of 1.00 per day Police Car Expense. President Windett nominated Robert Smith as Building Ins ector to serve at pleasure of the Board and be paid a minimum of 115.00 per application*bh authority to hire Deputies when necessary . Deputies to receive minimum compensation of $5.00 per inspection. On motion by Trustee Olson- seeondef by Trustee Hughes that th above appointment be approved.
