City Council Minutes 1957 04-17-57 April 17, 1957
The adjourned regular meeting of the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois
was held at the Village Hall of said Villa@ on Wednesdy April 17,
1957 and was called to order by President Kapelsky at 8:00 o 'cloc
P.M.
Finding pre semi; on the roll call were President Kapelsky,
Trustees Windett, Hughes, Olsen„ Olson, Randles and Schobert and
Clerk Merkel
Bill were then read as follows :

The official returns of the regular election of April 16,,
1957 forVillage President members of the Board of Trustees and
Police "Magistrate were duly canvassed. Whereupon upon motion by
Trustee Randles, seconded by Trustee Schobert, , the following
resolution was duly adopted: ( See following page)

The official returns of the specl4k election held April 16,,
1957, on the proposition of uniting the two Villages were then
duly canvassed. Whereupon upon motion by Trustee Windett,
seconded by Trustee Olson, the following razarixttaRx canvassing
resolution was duly adopted . ( See following page)

On motion by Trustee Randles, ,seconded by Trustee Hughes that
09,000.00 be borrowed from the Water Fund and transfered to the
General Fund so that partial payment on new sidewalks and street
lights contract can be made to Sverre Ugland.

On motion by Trustee Randles, seconded by Trustee Windett that
the Village share of the cost of the new sidewalk on Bridge St
in front of Homer Dickson is set at $200.00 and that this amouht
be paid the above mentioned.

On motion by Trustee Olsen, . seconded by Trustee Hughes that th
Village pay Joseph Reinboldt the Village 's share ofthe cost of
new sidewalk on Ridge Street in front of the Mamie Brown resident
when bill is presented.

On motion by Trustee Randles, seconded by Trustee Schobert that,
the Village hire L.A.Hanson's tractor with end loader- at speeifie
rate set up by Doane's Agriculture Service, . tractor to be used fox
cleaning gutters and where-ever that type machinery can be used.

Mereas, We, Leon Kapelsky, President of the Board, and
Ellsworth liaindett, Russell Hughes, Walter Olsen' Leonard. Olson,
William Randles and Carl Schobert, members of the .Board of Trustees
of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, did convene
in law-F70 session on April 17, 1957, for the purpose of canvassing the
official returns of the Special Election held in and for the said
Village April 16, 1957s. upon the following proposition: 'Shall the
Village of Yorkville and the Village of Bristol be united into a single
_ municipality under the name of the Village of Yorkville with the alder-
manic form of government?" And for the purpose of declaring the results
of said special election and whereas, from our examination of the re-
turns -we find and deter-TuAne the result: of said special election to
be as follaas:

Afainst uniting 104
Now Therefore Be It }resolved, that from a canvass of the official
returns of the. special election held in and for said Village on April
16, 1957, we do determine and. we do thereupon declare the results of
said election to be as follovrs:
The proposition3 "Shall the Village of Yorkville and
the Village of Bristol be united into a single municipality under
the name of the Village of Yorkville with the aldermanic form of
government?".,
was carried and passed by a majority of those voting upon the same,
Therefore Be It Resolved, tYnt the two Villages of Yorkville and
Bristol, be united, and -i-e do declare that the same are so united
under the names Village of Yorkville' Illinois.
