City Council Minutes 1956 10-01-56 Get6ber is 1956 The regular monthly meeting of the Bresident and Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois Was held at the Village Hall of said Village on Monday October it 1956 and was called to order by President Kapelsky at 7:30 o'clock P.M. Finding present on Roll Callwwere: President Kapelsky, Trustee Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Olson, Randles and Sehobert, Clerk Merkel and Village Treasurer M. Gauer. Minutes of the regular meeting of September4, 1956 were read and so ordered approved. Reports of the Village Clerk, Treasurer, Chief of Police abd Supt. of Streets and Alleys and Supt. of Water Works for the month of September were read. Rdll Call- Ayes- Trustees Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Olson, Randle and Schobert. Nayes- None Carried and so ordered. The Clerk then read the following building application permits. Delbert Trummel to erect a 12 x 20 wooden stoarge building. Lee Wickens to erect an 16 a 28 additon on present dwelling. Harvey Price to erect a 14 a 24 wooden garage. Marvin Hinckley to erect a 10 x 22 foot addition on present garage. Hi Salisbury to place a 8 x 45 trailer with a garage 18 x 20 aamsatxbIazkxgzzagax wooden garage. Victor Smith to erect a wooden frame dwelling house. J. Costello to install new front on tavern on Bridge street. On motion by Trustee Windett- seconded by Trustee Olson that above applio&*UuS Ith the exception of Costello's application for new store front be issued building permits. Costello& applcation is to be issued subject to meeting all requirements of the Liquor Commissioner. All Trustees present voting favorably- motion was carried and so ordered approved. On motion by Trustee Randles -secoR ¢sb -Trustee Windett that Walter Deuchler make tentative plans t� ifications for the placing of water mains along Route 47 from Washington Street to Pennuto Business House on Bridge street. All Trustees present voting favorably- motion was carried and so ordered approved. On motion by Trustee Olsen-seconded by Trustee Windett that October 29, 1956 be fixed as the date for letting bids for in*. stalling new street lights, widening of streets and fixing side- walks and that this meeting be adjourned until October 29, 1956 at 8:00 ofclock PM at the Village Hall of said Village. All Trustees voting favorably- motion was carried and so orders approved. On motion by Trustee Randles - seconed by Trustee Olsen that a 00 letter or card be sent to each business man and property owner on Bridge Street notifying him that bids will be let at the adjourne meeting October 29, 1956, 8:00 PM at the Village Hall lsixtkaf for new street lights, widening street and fixing sidewalks tk t each property owner and business be in attendance. All Trusties present voting favorably-motion was carried and s ordered approved. October 1, 1956 Ehwing had a discussion on laying water mains from Washington Street to Pennuto Store on Bridge Street, the following Resolution as read by the Clerk. Whereas: the Village of Yorkville located in the County of Kendall Ute of Illinois wishes to install a 4 inch Cast Iron Water Main along the east side of Illinois Route 47 which by Law comes under the jurisdiction and control of the Department of Public Works an Buildings of the State of Illinois, and Whereas: a permit from said Department is required before said work can be legally undertaken by said Village, now Therefore be it resolved by the Village of Yorkville, County of Kendall , State of Illinois. First : That we do hereby request from the Department of Public Works and Buildings, State of Illinois, a permit authorizing the Village to proceed with the work described. Second: That we hereby pledge the good faith of the Village o otkville and guarantee that all work shall be performed in accordance with the conditions of the permit to be granted by the Department of Public Works and Buildings of the State of Illinois d to hold the State of Illinois, Department of Public Works and uildings, harmless on account of any damages that may occur to persons or property during the prosecution of such work, and aBsu33 e all liability for damages to persons or property due to accidents or otherwise by reason of the work which is to be performed under he provisions of said permit: Third That we hereby state that the proposed work is, is not,t be performed by the employees of the Village . F'outhh That the proper officers of the Village are hereby in- structed and authorized to sign said permit in behalf of the Village of Yorkville. On motion by Trustee Olson- seconded by Trustee Schobert that the above Resolution be passed . Roll Call- Ayes- Trustees Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Olson, Randl s and Schobert. Nayes- None Carried and so ordered approved. On motion by Trustee Olson- seconded by Trustee Randles that the Village purchase 6 oil stove from Earl Price and that same be equiped witha electric thermostat, also purchase a new desk lamp for the desk in the Village Hall.
