City Council Minutes 1956 03-19-56 March 19, 1956
The adjourned meeting of the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois was held at
the Village Hall of said Village on Monday March 19, 1956 and was
celled to order.'by Pre' ident Kapelsky at 7:30 o'clock P.M.
Finding present on the roll call were President Kapelsky,
Trustees Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Olson, Randles and Clerk Merkel.
Absent- Trustee Schobert.
Building permit application from R.O. Mitchell to erect a
lood frame dwelling on the foundation already erected was re-
ubmitted. Location of house to be erected conforms with Zoning
rdinance therefore on motion by Trustee Olson, seconded by
rustee Olsen that Zoning Officer issue Building Permit to the
bove, that house is to over hang four feet on street side but
no overhang on the other three sides.
Roll Call- Ayes- Trustees Windettr; Hughes, Olsen, Olson
Randles
Nayes - None
Absent - Trustee Schobert.
Carried and so ordered approved.
Bids were then opened and read on a New 2 Ton Truck' 10 foot
Box with Hoist Etc.
Hughes Super Service bidding #3.050.00, out right deal was
low bidder.
On motion by Trustee Randles , seconded by Trustee Olson this
lowest bid be accepted.
Roll Call- Ayes- Trustees Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Olson and
Randles.
Nayes- None
Absent- Trustee Sohobert.
Carried and so ordered approved.
On motion by Trustee Randles, seconded by Trustee Olsen that
the Clerk be directed to write a letter to Charles Sohumaker .
informing him that a street's name cannot be changed only by on *
60 percent of the aboding property owners mil. `
All Trustees voting aye - carried and so ordered approved.
There being many complaints on the dogs running loose. On
Motinn by Trustee Olsen, seconded by Trustee Windett that the
Police Dept. be instructed to pick up all stray dogs as per
Village Ordinance on Dogs and impound them at Weiss's Kennels
for 5 days and be destroyed if not claimed within that time:
The charge per day for each dog $1.00.

Carried and so ordered.
March 19, 1956
After considerable discussion tge Clerk read the sales Tax
Ordinance - upon motion by Trustee Randles, seconded by Trustee
Hughes that said Ordinanse' be passed.
Roll Call- Ayes- Trustees Hughes, Olsen and Randles
Nayes- Trustees Windett and Olson.
Absent - Trustee Schobert.
Carried and so ordered.
Upon motion by Trustee Randles seconded by Trustee Hughes
that Light and Street and Alley Committees meet with Homer
Dickson to discuss pe* =ttreet lights on Bridge Street and
taking out part of sidewalks on Bridge Street.
All Trustees voting aye- carried and so ordered approved.
Board discussed condition of Wright Building on Bridge Stree
and considered report of adjoining property owaners stating the
present condition of the Building creates a nuisance, fire hazar ,
dangerous to the public , therefoee on motion by Trustee Randles
seconded by Trustee Olson that the Village Attorney be so direct d
to contact pro arty owner advising them if steps are not taken
within 30 day�mprove the condition of the building the Village
would start-;proceedings to have building torn down.
All Trustees present voting aye- carried and so ordered.
There being no further business on motion duly made, seconde
carried meeting be adjourned.
