City Council Minutes 1955 10-03-55 October 3, 1955 The regular monthly meeting of the President and Board of �jTrustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois `was held at the Village Hall of said Village on Monday October 3, 1955 and was called to order by President Kapelsky at 7:30 o'cloc Finding present on the roll call were President 'd[apelsky, ;Trustees Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Randles, Schobert and Clerk Merkel. Absent- Trustee Olson. Minutes of the regular meeting held Sept.6,1955 were read and so ordered approved. �i The megular montbly reports of the Clerk and Chief of Police were read and so ordered approved. Roll Call- Ayes- Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Randles and Schobert. Nayes - None Absent- Trustee Olson. Carried and so ordered. A Building Permit Application for erection of a garage from Harry Skau was read. Building Permit referred to Zoning Committee for investigation, and if approved the Clerk was direct .ad to issue permit. Roll Call-Ayes-Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Randles and Schobert. Nayes-None Absent - Trustee Olson. Carried and so ordered. The Police Committee recommended that the Police Car expense account should be increased. After considerable discussion and upon motion by Trustee Schobert, Seconded by Trustee Windett, that the monthly Police Car expense account should be increased to $120.00 per month instead of the $70.00 monthly police car expense account, and that the increase should be in effect as of October lst, 1955. Roll Call- Ayes-Windett , Hughes, Olsen, Randles and Schobert. Nayes - None Absent - Trustee Olson. Carried and so ordered. The Piblice Committee recommended that the Village hire an additional Deputy Marshall to assist the Chief of Police, and ' consider Jess Dunkle for the position of Deputy Marshall. Afterl! ,some discussion, whereupon, Trustee Windett moved that Jess Dunkle be appointed as Deputy Marshall at the salary of $1.50 pe hour. This motion was seconded by Trustee Randles. Roll Call -Ayes-Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Randles and Schobert.I Nayes - None Absent - Trustee Olson. ! i Carried and so ordered. �! ii Jess Dunkle being present, he was sworn in as Deputy Marshal by the President of the Board and advised as soon as a $500.00 Surety Bond was posted and filed with the Clerk, he could commen�e his duties. —SSA l— E E �9 `a I� Owro$C-Y;L �qsS Trustee Randles present®d the following Resolution. WMAXA8 it has come to the attention of the Village Board, that a great majority of surrounding communities have extended 'IDaylight Saving Time for an additional month to October 30th, 1°5 . ,ANID WHEREA83 the Village Boar& deems it advisable to be in accord 'with the majority of surrounding communities in this regard. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED-the Village of Yorkville shall ;extend Daylight Saving Time, and adopt Daylight Saving Time for azi ;additional period of one month. Upon motion by Trustee Windett; seconded by Trustee Olsen, that Resolution extending Daylight Saving Time for an additional {period of one month be adopted and passed. Roll Call-Ayes-Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Randles and Schobert Naye s� - None Absent - Trustee Olson. Carried and so ordered. Upon motion by Trustee Windett, seconded by Trustee Olsen, that ;since the Village is using the electric timer, and Deputy Marshal ..Price is on Police Duty Saturdays and Sundays, and also is called lout on extra Water Department duty on Saturdays and Sundays, he "should be compensated a* the rate of 1.50 per hour for his extra tour of duty on these two days, payable from theGeneral Fund and akaax Water Fund.
