City Council Minutes 1955 05-02-55 k May 21 1955 The regular monthly meeting of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois was held at the Village Hall of said Village on Monday May 2, 195 and was called to order. by President Kapelsky at 7:30 o'clock P.1[ Finding present on roll call were President Kapelsky, Trustee Windett, Hughes, Olsen, Olson and Randles and Acting Clerk Merkel Minutes of the regular meeting held April 4, 1955 and of the special meeting held April 21, 1955 were read and so ordered approved. Marshall in refernoe to the Village Election of April 19, 1955( copies of the letters attached to the minutes of the meeting of the Nwayd retiring Board of Trustees May 2, 1955) in accordance with the determination of the results of the said Election at the last meeting of the Board of Trustees. Village upon the adjournment of the retiring Board of Trustees on . May 2, 1955. The Clerk sited that all newly elected officers hav subsoribed and swore to the' oaths of their respective offices and ;,have filled all requirements for qualifications of their res- pective orifices- except that due to the factny created by failure of Arthur Hubbard to qualify for the office of Member of the BoaI of Trustees and the vaoany existing for this office Trustee Winde t is -held over as Trustee until his successor qualifies. President Kapelsky nininated Marilyn J.Gauer for Village Treasur ,r, . her bond to be fixed ,at$35,000.00 with the provision that liabili y shkll not extend to bank failure and her salary shill be fixed at ' $175.00 per year, payable 55� from Water Fund and 45% from the I; General Fund. (� li i J+ May 2, 1955 President Kapelsky nominated Franklin Martyn Sr. for Chief of < Police at the salary of $2,160.00 per year plus expense of $840.0 per year for police car axpauaa operation, this being at the rate r of $180.00 per mont# salary and $70.00 per month for police car expense, with the provision that the above employee is subject to one week vacation for one year service with the Village, two week vacation for two years or more years service with the Village, witi ay. On Motion by Trustee Randles- Seconded by Trustee Olsen that above appointment be approved. Roll Call- President and Trustees voting jointly. On Motion by Trustee Olsen - Seconded by Trustee Olson that the Clerks Salary be fixed at $325.00 per year. On Motion by Trustee Olsen- Seconded by Trustee Schobert that the Wheel Tax Ordinance be laid over until the adjourned meeting ay 16, 1955 for public inspection. A very detailed report of the accomplishments of the Street an lley and the Water Departments aaxa was read by James Price. The following applications for Building Permits were read: F. Haggerty to erect a one story frame and stone dwelling 1 house. V. Rice to erect a oar port. E, Madden to erect a one story frame dwelling house. The Clerks Annual Report of Estimates was read and on Notion by Trustee Windett- Seconded by Trsutee Hughes, that the Clerks Annu Report of Estimates be accepted and placed on file.
