City Council Minutes 1955 04-21-55 April 11m1955 A special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois was held it at the Village Hall of said Village on Thursday April 21, 1955 ti at the hour of 7:00 P.M. o'clock pursuant to the following oa 1. To The Members of the Board of Trustees: By order of the President of the Board pf Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, you are hereby notified of a special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees of said village to be held Thursday April 212 1955 in the Village Hall of said Village at 7:00 P.M. o'clock for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the regular Village Eleetio held April 19, 1955 and declaring the results. Also to consider the passage of a Vehicle Tax upon Automobiles and Trucks, and 11 also to consider the passage of a Building Code. Acting Village Clerk re den State of Illinoist 89 County of Kendall We, Leon Kapelsky, President, and Ellsworth Windett, Russell Hughes Jr. , Walter Olsen, A.Leonard Olson and William Randles, Members of the Board of Trnstses of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, do hereby certify that we convened in lawful session on April 21, 1955 for the purpose of convassing the official returns of the regular election held in and for the said Village on April 19, 1955, to elect three Members of the said Board, for full term, and one Member of said Board., to fill vacancy, One Village _Clerk, aad Police Magistrate each for full term, and for the purpose of declaring the results od said election and we do further certify that from our exam- ination of the returns, we find and determine the results of ( said election to be as follows: For Members of the Board of Trustees, for full term. W.J. Randles received 78 votes C.Schobert reol6ved 73 votes Arthur Hubbard received 68 votes J.A. Marshall received 2 votes R.F. Marshall received 2 votes Harry Crawford received 1 vote ` For Member of the Board of Trustees, to fill vacancy. A. Leonard Olson received 77 votes For Village Clerk, for full term. Paul Merkel received 77 votes Frank Weber received 1 vote For Police Magistrate A.F. Willman received 43 votes L.C. Doetsohman received 16 votes Robert Jeter received 8 votes A.G. Bretthauer received 1 vote. i WHEREFORE, the board of Trustees, Village of Yorkville, Bend 1 !County, Illinois having determined that Arthur Hubbard, althol he I.received the highest number of votes cast for office of Member of the Board of Trustees, is not eligible for 8"d office by rea- json of the fact that he failed to meet resident requirement of on ' year necessary for qualifications for said office. The Board of jTrustees has determined that John R. Marshall and Robert F. jjMarshall having received the next highest number of votes for sai loffice and eaog received identical number of votes the results of the election for this office is declared to be a tie and the jcandidate who shall hold office shall be determined by lot at the (Inext regular meeting of the Board of Trustees, and in the event o ly one candidate shallappear he shall be elected, and in the event 11neither candidates appear the office shall be declared vacant within 10 days from date of said meeting or in event that there i Ino meeting at that time the office shall be declared vacant.
