Discussion:
1.) February Water Report - Take to COW. Then to Council.
2.) Root Control - Talked to Ralph. Ralph has talked to Deuchler. They
came up with RootX. A licensed application technician is needed to
apply the RootX. If J.T. is able to get information on licensing, he
will bring it to COW.
3.) CDL-Alcohol/Drug - Waiting for Dan to look it over.
4.) Update Shallow Well - The money is not in the budget right now.
City needs to decide what they want to do and how much money is
available. Layne can do a test. They test will cost approximately
$30,000-35,000. There are no guarantees with the test. Everything
J.T. has seen show this would be a good well site. Layne could put
a ravel packed well in the ground. This would cost about
50,000. This well would not include the pump. The test will show
the aquifer. With the growth, the City is going to need a well. City
has a 25 foot easement around the Hanson property. Nanninga will
speak with Layne and find out different methods of payments.
5.) Leaf Burning - The City currently has two leaf pick ups in the fall and
one in the spring. Stafford would like to find out if the City really
needs to spend the money and time to build the rake. Oswego has a
street sweeper. After the leaves are picked up the street sweeper
comes by cleans up what the rake does not pick up. Elmhurst has
had problems with people driving over the piles of leaves to see how
far they can blow them. Another consideration is to have the
residents to put their leaves in biodegradable bags and having the City
crews pick them up. Then the City will dispose of them with TCD or
Scotts. City needs to get some options and costs together.
6.) Additional Business -
Everything is set for Elizabeth Street project. J.T. said manholes and
pipe will be in this week. City has all the easements they need to do
the work.
- Page 2 -
Work Schedules - J.T. said his crew is on a work schedule. Every
morning it is printed out. They know what they are suppose to do.
Equipment Schedules - Stafford would like to see a schedule done for
the equipment as well. Stafford would like to consider having hour
meters put on all equipment.
Street Lights - Street lights are setting where they need to go. Once
the ground thaws the crews will start putting them up.
Streets - Prochaska would like to make sure the streets are sealed this
year. Some streets have cracks all the way across them. The County
can assist with this.
Fox Street stop Light - Mayor received letter from Idot. They will be
out this week. Nanninga will look 2nd see :vh3t kind of time frame it
will take to install the lights and do what they need to do there.
Building Permit Report - January & February take to COW.
Court House - Nanninga needs to write letter to Judges to let them
know exactly what the City wants to do before they move out before
they will give the City permission to do any work.
Items for next Public Works Agenda - Root Control, CDL-Alcohol
Drug, Shallow Well, Leaf Burning, Town Meeting.
