Public Works Minutes 1995 05-15-95 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
MONDAY, MAY 15, 1995
AUSTIN ROOM, BEECHER BUILDING, 908 GAME FARM RD. , YORKVILLE
Present were Jim Stafford, Kathy Jones, Jeff Spang, Art Prochaska,
Jerry Lynch, Burt Callmer, Jim Nanninga, J. T. Johnson, Bill
Schmanski, Ed Aister, Art Gary, Lew Tews, Bill McCue, Bob Williams
& Tim Briggs.
Blackberry North is asking us to speed up our testing on sewer
lines. Bill stated this line cannot operate until lift station is
tested. Lift station is supposed to be tested Friday, May 19th and
following this there is paperwork to be completed.
There will be a vote at the May 25th City Council meeting if all
tests are done and YBSD is OK with the tie in. Also a generator
must be on site for lift station and Public Works will not be
responsible for any backup until system is in and on line by
developer.
1 . Test lift station Friday 9 : 00 AM
2 . Tie in lines by Monday
3 . Pass on Thursday
4 . Hold harmless on sewers
5 . Dempsey Ing is going to accept
Permits-Need to look over permit fees and check to make sure all
permits in Blackberry North are correct. Builders are welcome to
come in and go over permits and costs.
TCD-Discussed contract. A new 5 year contract would freeze price
increase for 2 years and pickup more recyclables versus rebid.
Only 1 year left on current contract.
Public Works will check with other communities on their rates .
Ask TCD to give us one month to check with other towns .
Need to look at rebate to businesses and to small users .
Total volume was discussed and effect of discarded material on back
roads .
Elizabeth Storm Contract - $5,805 .30 for minimum engineering ( for
City crews) - To Committee of the Whole on Thursday - Also North &
South Recapture Ordinance.
Employee Education - Ask committees to review
Additional items :
1 . Sanders Ct.-Rich Herron-look at Spring St.-sinking over this
storm sewer. The Mayor directed Bill Schmanski to look at
Lindley's report and field check. Bill Schmanski to bring back
cost estimate.
