DISCUSSION:
Don informed the committee that he had received the engineering bids for the Hydraulic
Avenue Storm Sewer Study,the Hydraulic Street Paving and the Van Emmon Street plans.
The bids are as follows:
Hydraulic St. Hydraulic St. Van Emmon St.
Storm Sewer Paving
Baxter and Woodman $22,500.00 $35,000.00 $ 7,500.00
Pavia and Marting $ 6,721.50 $31,688.50 $ 8,958.00
Don recommended Pavia and Marting for the three engineering projects,the committee
concurred. This will be brought to council for formal approval.
Don received plans from Baxter and Woodman for South West interceptor,and had the bid
notice put in the paper, with a hopeful start date of July 15th.
Don advertised for the Detention Pond with a hopeful start date of July 15th.
North West interceptor estimated starting time of July 15th also.
Don will inform the council of the name of the individual he hired for the public works position
so the council can formally approve that appointment.
Don recommended Gary Michael Bennett for the six month temporary job with a start date of
July 1,1993 and an anticipated ending date of January 29,1993 at a rate of$5.00 per hour. The
committee concurred and this will be brought to council for formal approval.
Don received bids for the 240 feet of the fence on top of the retaining wall that needs to be
repaired. Hinckley Concrete (Steve Urang) estimated $8,400.00 for galvanized rails, 1/2 inch
metal (estimated 58 years life) fencing and for the concrete patching. Bob Davidson will be
doing the labor on a time and material basis. Don recommended that this project proceed on a
time and material basis,the committee concurred and this will be brought to the council for
formal approval.

Don Altman bid$6,000.00(38.00 per hour per man,using three men for seven days to do the
concrete facework. Don recommended,and the committee concurred,to do the facework at a
future date. ri
Don informed that committee that the rock and dirt pile`will be used in the street program and
the pile will start diminishing and it should be largely gone by the end of July.
As the bid from Aurora Blacktop came in at$200,000.00+,the committee began to discuss what
could,might or should be done with the remaining money as this was originally estimated at
$400,000+. Don informed the committee he would return to the committee with a suggestion of
what could be accomplished by the end of the road work season.
