Zoning Board of Appeals
August 11, 1999
Roll Call:
Present: Bob Wenman, Curtis Medin, Harold Feltz, Michael Livingston, Ralph Pfister
Absent: Mike Skinner, Don Altman
Chairman Wenman called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
Minutes
Member Pfister moved to waive the approval of the previous minutes. Member Feltz seconded _the
motion. On a voice vote, all members present voting aye.
Public Hearing
#99-01 Luther G. & Sandra S. Roberts
Requesting 8 ft. variance from 10-6B-" (Backyard Set-back requiring 40 ft.)
The Roberts were present for the hearing. Bill Dettmer explained the house at 302 W. Somonauk St.
had a fire and was ordered tom down. The lot does not conform with the current setbacks since the
last zoning ordinance change. The various neighborhood setbacks were compared. The petitioner
plans to construct a one story structure. Member Feltz moved to close the public hearing. Member
Pfister seconded the motion. On a voice vote, all members present voting_ave.

Requesting 8 ft. variance from 10-6B4-C (Backyard Set-back requiring 40 ft.)
Member Medin moved to approve the variance for#99-01. Member Pfister seconded the motion. On a
roll call vote, all members present voting ave. Motion carried.
The permit will be issued. Mr. Roberts stated the sewer had been plugged.
Additional Business
• Mr. Dettmer explained the authority of the Zoning Board of Appeals. He will make up an
informational package for the Board.
• Chairman Wenman requested the Board meet every few months to stay aware of updates. Mr.
Dettmer suggested that the meetings could be used to begin the process to establish procedures.

Mr. Pfister moved to adioum the meeting at 6:55 P.M. Member Livingston seconded the motion. On a
voice vote, all members present voting ave.
