ZBA Minutes 1998 11-04-98 City of Yorkville 'Z_ Zoning Board of Appeals November 4, 1998 Roll Call: Present Bob Wenman Mike Skinner Curtis Medin Harold Feltz Minutes Member Feltz moved approve the October minutes as submitted. Member Medin seconded the motion. On a voice vote, all members present voting aye. Member Resigns Ken Mandle sent a letter stating his resignation from the ZBA effective December 1, 1998. Public Hearing PC 98-13 Yorkville Lodging LLC Country Inn & Suites/Darryl Anderson Height Variance Request Darryl Anderson, owner and developer of the proposed Country Inn & Suites, was sworn in. He asked for a variance of the height ordinance. They would like to alter the height of the pitch of the roof to give it more of a cottage look and for curb appeal. The fire chief, Mike Hitzemann, submitted a letter stating he had no problem with the variance. Member Feltz moved the public hearing be ended. Member Skinner seconded the motion. On a voice vote, all members present voting aye. Old Business Art Prochaska stated the ZBA does not has the jurisdiction to approve this type of variance and this will need to be a recommendation to the City Council according to Dean Kleronomas. There will be a clarification tomorrow night concerning the jurisdiction of authority of the ZBA. New Business PC 98-13 There was discussion if the surrounding property owners were notified of the requested height variance. Darryl Anderson said he has bought the land and had the closing last week. Member Medin moved to recommend approval of the height variance due to the letter received from the fire department with no obiection to the height. Also, though not knowing if the surrounding property owners were informed, the recommendation is for approval of the variance. Member Feltz seconded the motion. On a roll call vote, all members present voting aye. Motion carried. Adjournment Member Skinner moved to adioum the meeting at 6:55 PM. Member Feltz seconded the motion.
