Prior to the start of the meeting Ken Groetsch,of Wayne Mfg_Chariton Iowa,presented
information and a display of the holiday decorations manufactured by the firm. Decorations come
with either 14 gape or a molded socket wiring harms,and carry a four season nan-prorated
guarantee. All are wired for 110. Pole mounting brackets are made of 3/8"hot rolled.steel. The
decoration includes an angle iron bracket that slips directly into the pole bracket for easy banging.
With proper noshaeoauce and storage,the decorations will typically last 8-15 years,depending an

Holiday Decorations-
Discussion on decorations continued Yorkville Mayor,Art Prochaska, stopped by and was
braraht unto the discussion_ The focus moved to fimdisg with the mayor -ffi igg to aWroacb the
Chamber of Cake and to help identify other sources of funds. He suggested the Parks and
Rec Dept. speak to individual bum and the Chamber,as well. Lisa Sdmeret asked for

to solicit their congestion in Amd=and idmbfyn*place ow nt of decorations. Bi11 Wedge
volunteered. Sue Sv athm will gather additional infornman on number of poles downtown,on the
bridge,etc.,as well as pricing information to present at the next board moetamg.

Mayor Prochaska reported to the board that Ken Koch,board candidate and a readwt in
Greenbrier subdivision,well be voted on at Tlnusday's City Council meeting.
of Plaques-
The oalso informed the board that presentation of plaques will take place at the July 2e City
Council meeting. Plaques will be presented to members of the library board and the park board
who are reaming or vdxose terms have expired.

Lisa reported that she recently spoke wish J.T.Jolmsaan who informed her that Scott Sleezzer has
turned down the position. Mayor Proebaska said the z ors step will be as inn mal two-week posting
and outside advaUsing. He added that internal candidates will be given first consideration-

Lisa Scherer made a motim to approve minutes of the June 11 meeting. Bill Wedge seconded.
Approval was unanimous.

Followirg a brief review of current bills,Lisa Scherer moved for approval to pay dw bills as
presented. Dave Cathey seconded. Approval was unanimous following a roll-call vote. Rollins,

Lisa Scherer reported on Safety Town, sing a plan be devdaped idaft6 tg wcofic items to
be induced,as well as price,sdredule,etc.,before spealmg to the Kiwaais Club. Lisa said she
has been unable to reach anyone at Kendall County to ask about a scale drawing of the old
cotuthouse to be ereded at Safety Town. Sue S"bw offered to help make the oorrract.

regarding a questianable visitor at youth baseball games_ Concern has been expressed to the Youth
Baseball Assocaaahm and the Park Board for the children's wAty. There is added mcem because

Dave Cad wy asked for an update on the skate park Sue Smahin mxed first skate park use is dawn
this A anooer. She shared that she would like to plan some eompetban days at the skate park
before the end of the ammw season to encourage increased activity at the perk.
Lisa Sdxm asked dmt by the July 23A meeting figures be available on the number of bouts Patios
and Rec uses school district facilities,and the number of hom park faciliti es an used by the
school district. This and any Aw issues with the school district need to be readved before the
agreeanemt vdtlh the district domes up for renev W. Sue Swntltm also pointed oast than the agreement
needs to state that Parks and Rec gets first right of refusal over other groups asking to use district
facilities.
