PARK BOARD MINUTES
Dec. 14, 1998
CALL TO ORDER:
no meeting was called to order by Dave Dockstader at 7:02 p.m.
ROLL CALL:
Kathy Curtis, Chris Rollins,Dave Dockstader, John Bradstreet- absent.
Staff- Sue Swithin,Larry Kot- City Liaison-present. J.T. Johnson absent.
GUESTS AND/OR CITY OFFICIALS:
Joe Roberts, Director-YMCA
Joe stated that there has been a positive relationship with the Yorkville Recreation Dept. and the
YMCA in regards to the Bitty Basketball program that was offered by both groups., John Robinson
and Sue will continue to work together on that program as well as others. Joe talked about the
indoor and the outdoor pools. They hope to have the indoor finished by April. The outdoor will be
available for more community/family activities. The outdoor large pool has a leak in it, and takes a
great deal of water each year. The septic system is damaged and the YMCA will have to be hooked
up to city sewer and water. The YMCA lost$3,500 last year. They had 120 memberships from
Yorkville residents last year.
APPROVAL OF NIINUTES:
Chris Rollins motioned to approve the minutes from Nov. 9th. Dave D. seconded. Motion passed.
APPROVAL OF BILLS:
Dave D. motioned to approve the bills as presented. Kathy C. seconded. Chris-yes,Dave D.-yes,
Dave C. yes, Kathy C.-yes. Motion passed.
BOARD ACTION:
1. Roof bids-tabled
2. Chris motioned to transfer$1,000 to Park Board II account. Dave D. seconded. Roll call
unanimous.
3. Dave D. motioned to approve check for$250 to D.J. services Dec. 18th and Jan. 15th.
Kathy C. seconded. Roll call-unanimous.
4. Sue is to complete budget draft and send to Board members.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT:
1. Duct cleaning-tabled
2. All work orders completed
3. Work requests have been added to '99 budget
4. Sue will complete
5. The Court Authority volleyball program has 2 teams at 16 and under, and 2 teams at 14 and
under. They are entered in the league with runs until May.
