City of Yorkville - Park Board
Regular Meeting 2/8/95
Members present: Steve Bridge, Sue Swithin, Cindy Davidson and Dave Dockstader.
Guests: Alderman Art Prohaska, Ann Scholl, Becky Johnson, Jim Nanniga and Chuck Hanlon
from the Inland real estate group.
The meeting was called to order ar 7:15 by Steve Bridge
The January minutes were reviewd . A motion was made to accept the Jan. mins., 2nd. and
approved.
Art has asked T.J. Hiles, Dan Kramer' associate, to draw-up a resolution of some sort for the
Council to agree to the purchase of the lawnmower (since it wasn't in the budget).
Mr. Hanlon presented a possible plan for park space on the land located at Rt. 47 and Corneils
Rd.. He wanted to know what the Park Board wanted in the way of land and/or money, but
that is rather difficult to determine since the Board has no idea how the land will be used..
Director's Report: Scott from Blackberry Oaks Golf Course will teach golf lessons.
Also, there is some problem with the date of the City Golf Outing this year as it conflicts with
one of their leagues. Perhaps we could change to a different day the same week or the next
week.
Ann met with Allan from the Hoover Center to clarify their previous discussion.
They charged $30.00 per week (with meals) for their Day Camp. Instructors were paid $6.00
per hr. However, we would be charged $40.00/ hr for the pool. $150.00 for a campsite for 4
weeks. Instructors would be for 8 hrs. for $160.00, plus $105.00 for a pizza parry for 21
people at the end of the session..
Bills were presented for payment. A motion was made to accept the bills for payment except
for the Ameriterch for $87.03, 2nd. and approved.
The Budget was reviewed and discussed.
Ann and Jim will look into getting a computer for the Rec. Dept..
Playground equipment discussed. Sue will give Scott Sleezer the names and addresses of
equip. distributors and our requirements and price range and he will seek bids.
A motion was made to adjourn, 2nd. and approved.
