Park Board Minutes 1995 12-20-95 Recreation Board Meeting t December 20, 1995 7:00 Sue Swithin, John Bradstreeet, Dave Schmelzle, Art Prochaska, Scott Sleezer, Richard Schafran Discussion of $500.00 not transferred to our contractual services account from our November meeting. This will cover the overdraft incurred. Sue to square the accounts on 12-21-95. David Schmelzle motions, Sue Swithin seconds to approve the November 13 and November 27 meetings- All approved. Board recognized an unpaid bill from J.E.M. Morris for playground equipment that had been approved to be paid with the entire bill for Beecher playground in April. A check will be sent as soon as possible. A strip of Van Emmon Park should soon be sold to a homeowner for use as a private drive. The city decided that any money collected to be spent in that specific park. , Hometown Days has some money to be donated for another bench for our parks. The Hometown Days Committee will transfer the money to the city. Scott will order the bench to match the bench we have purchased in the past. Money for C, future bench purchases will be put into the donations. Discussion of the maintenance of Beecher. Mike to be on vacation next week. Scott and another city employee will be assigned alternating shifts and implementing a daily maintenance schedule as of January 1. Discussion of a contractual service for the cleaning of the Beecher Center. Scott will get a third bid for the Beecher Building. All three bids will be given to board members to be discussed for action at the January meeting. Board discussed the 1996 Recreation Board Budget. To ,,/be tabled until the January meeting. Discussion of a skating/roller rink facility for our city. Scott and John will look into Plano's facility. Board members will begin to list priorities for our parks to be implemented within the next five years. Present priorities for the January meeting. Dave Schmelzle brought to the Board's attention to recognize Becky Johnson and Ann Scholl for their service to the city. The board recommends a letter from the board to our former directors. Sue asked for a board member to set up a schedule to �/contact applicants for the directorship. Sue left the meeting at 8:31. Some discussion of candidates for the Recreation.
