Park Board Minutes 1994 01-12-94 f PARK BOARD MEETING JANUARY 12, 1994 Ieeting called to order by Steve Bridge. Those present were: Ifembers, Cindy Davidson, Steve Bridge, Dave Dockstader, Dave Schmelzle, Mary K. Price, Rec-Dept . Becky Johnson and Ann Scholl. Board Representatives : Pat Clark and Art Prochaska. Al Goss came representing Boys Baseball and Softball . Al Reported the concession stand project is still alive. Bathrooms needed. Park Board had discussed Pavillion near play area. No decision has bee reached. Al ' s group are willing to have a money making projects. Short discussion on ways to help girls with bookeeping. New equipment is going into the city office, t1lis might help the Rec. Dept . Ann brought a proposed plan by Al Goss for basketball in the school gym. This is expensive and the Board does have money problems. He needs 25 players and at present has only 8 or 9. His plan calls for competition, playing other scriools. Ann was instructed to give Al Goss the following answers. 1 . Saturday is out - too expensive 2 . Our program is a learning experience for fun. 3. No competition - program is for all. 4. Can not leave City because of insurance Board agreed girls should be making plans for offering new programs. Reminder from Spring Green must be signed indicating no service wanted in 1991. The Rec. Dept . is have been getting many calls about the ice skating rinks the City planned. Praire Park was flooded but cold weather didn ' t last long enough to stay frozen. We are insured for ice skating. Steve Bridge made motion seconded by Cindy D. that $50.00 gift certificate be given to Stormy Gray and MaryLou Kennedy for their help with the teen dances. Golf outing this year will be at the Blackberry Oaks Golf. Course. Check to see if Saturdays will be better. Steve movedc"and Dave S. seconded for Ifinutes to be approved as printed. Dave S. moved Bills be paid with exception of J.H. Morris. Seconded by Cindy. Motion carried. Art Prochaska discussed adminstration procedures thatthe Park Board might find useful . They should become more self.-suf.ficitnt . Making long term goals would help. The $1500.00 that Barry Niles donated to Praire Park went towards the playground equipment . f.oic:,,:there.
