Park Board Minutes 1993 04-14-93 PARK BOARD HEETING
APRIL 14, 1993
Meeting called to order by President, Steve Bridge. Those present
were: Cindy Davidson, Dave . Sclimelzle, Steve Bridge, Dave Dockstader,
Mary K. Price Board members, Ann Scholl and Becky Johnson, Rec.
Dept .
Brett Carrington can not check the volleyball court as planned.
Ann will advertise for person to do this.
Spring Green will not be contacted as there is no funds for this
service this summer.
Bases are installed on 2 fields the school will use. The money
the board gave to the Boys Baseball Assoc. is for maintenance only.
Minutes were approved as printed.
There was a lengthy discussion of the Concession-Bathroom Building
planned. Dave Dockstader reminded us this project was for the good
of the commumity. He presented a plan for use, responsibility,
and financing written by Bob Evans, Athletic Director, Yorkville
High School.
Questions raised by Park Board were:
1 . Agreement should be written - Attorney Kramer
2 . Exact location of building
3 . All donations written
4. Building permit, sewer and water connections
5. Utilities, responsibility?
6 . Insurance, since on City property, would their policy cover
it?
7. Maintenance
Members of our Board had been given various opinions about
who should go ahead with plans. Steve Bridge made a call
to Mayor Kittoe. The Mayor says it is our responsibility
to make plans for Board approval. Dave Dockstader will contact
interested organizations and have some plans by next meeting.
Diamonds are still in need of benches for players. Dave
Schmelzle reported the school has wooden bencees for at
least on diamond. The school will install, Dave Schmelzle
move we accept this offer. Carried by a 3 - 2 vote. A discussion
of permanent benches was followed. Dave Dockstader moved
that we allow $1000 for 10 16ft. long benches. Carried by
yes vote from all present Steve Bridge promised to get volunteer
help and have them ready by June 1 .
Field 5 needs some baseball mix, Steve Bridge moved we have
12 loads of mix put on this field. Sand might also be needed.
So allow $500 for project . Motion carried by yes vote from
all .

Attorney Kramer should have baseball contract ready..
The Park on Freemont, given by Barry Niles will be our next
play equipment project.
May 6, is Golf. outing. 151 golfers have signed up. need
more sponsor signs, It was decided to give golf towels to
each participant .
Ann reported on a meeting for Aerobics teachers in Aurora.
She feels our two teachers would profit from attending this.
Steve B. moved the girls be allowed to go and $69 expenses
be given to them with their regular pay. ?lotion carried
by yes vote from all present.
The Step boxes are showing wear. Because of insurance problems
they can not be made as before. They are expensive to purchase.
Ann is to put in a ad for golf instructor. She is to contact
the local golf. range.
Cindy moved we allow bills as printed with change under
Hayden $722 . 20 to $772.20. ?lotion carried by yes vote from

Steve moved we accept the 1993-1994 budget as corrected
under Hayden. ?lotion carried by 3-2 vote.
Steve asked Ann to get copy of Park Board Ordinance.
