PARK BOARD MEETING
SEPTEMBER 9, 1992
President Steve Bridge, called the meeting to order. These
present were: Board members: Cindy Davidson, Dave Schmelzle,
Dave Dockstader, Steve Bridge, Diary K. Price: Don Peck Superintendent
of Public works and Bill Baird, Council Rep. Ann Scholl
and Becky Johnson Rec. Dept .
Minutes were approved as printed .
Don reported on the work done on ball diamonds. Board appreciates
this progress. Following a discussion of jobs remaining
the following motions were passed:
1 . Cindy Davidson moved, seconded by Dave Schmezle. Home
Run fence on two diamonds are remaining back stops plus
replacing backstops that are down. Payable to Straight Fencing.
total of $6155 . motion carried.
2 . Cindy Davidson moved seconded by Steve Bridge that we
allow $6000 to Bill ?lc?delis for Base Ball mix for all 4
softball diamonds. notion passed .
3 . ?lotion made by Dave Schmelzle seconded by Steve Bridge
to allow $1000 to place gravel on diamonds 3 & 4, move two
bleachers and install benches for players . carried .
There is concern about parking on grass, -More No Parking
signs to be installed. Playground need some attention. Hill
is to be removed. City can do this. Commercial playground
equipment was viewed. Expensive ! Becky is to get bids on
building the same type. Mary K. will check with Woman ' s
Club.
Dave Dockstader reported the Sport Boosters are waiting
for school board to decide what they can put into a building.
Housing concession and bathrooms .
'Phe storage building to be constructed north of Beecher
was discussed. 24 X 30 were tentative measures. One side
will be open pavillion. Don Peck offered to sketch plans
and get bids .
'Frees to be placed in playing fields east of building were
discussed . Don will learn which trees are free. Dave Schmelzle
will see what trees are available from local nurseries.
'Free should be planted by professional .
Basketball hoop at Swim Club need to be installed . City
will do this.
Cindy brought a request for permit to have "Gus ?tacker"
Basketball on July 4th. We need to know more about this
project .
Becky presented bills . Dave Dockstader moved seconed by
Cindy bills be paid. (tarried.

First after game dance will be Sept . 10 The help of 2 policeman
have been requested.

Bill Baird presented two matters for discussion.
1 . Do girls need computer? 'They would use it but neither
have used one. Don told of co-operation with school copies
can be made for 1(t a sheet. Girls will use this service.

2 . Would Park Board be interested in taking over Swim Club?
$80, 000 in improvements were put on it this year. $30, 000
cost for operating. This would require a full time person
during season. Board decided to think about this until next
meeting.
