Park Board Minutes 1991 10-09-91 PARK BOARD MEETING Oct .. 9, 1991 Meeting called to order by President Steve Bridge. Members present: Dave Schmelzle, Dave Dockstader, Cindy Davidson, Steve Bridge, Mary K. Price. Ann Scholl and Becky Johnson from Rec. Dept .. Delene Drew, City office, Denny Ayers from sport boosters and Bill Baird council Rep. also attended. Minutes were approved as printed. There was an extensive dicussion about old tennis courts at Swim Club and condition of diamonds at Beecher. Steve Bridge moved if Baseball Boys remove backstop and new side fences for field #2 . Seconded and carried. Denny Ayers presented a plan for a building to accomidate concessions and rest areas . $90, 000 is estimated for building. This can be greatly reduced through donations of time and materials . Various money making projects were dicussed. As a Park Board we can not be a part of making money. Our committee felt written committments should be obtained for, Labor hours, Materials, funds how available, promise of future funds, with city schools and Rec. Board working together. This should materialize.. Ann reported the "Step Areobics" class has increased 30 at present . Mary Stoner is teaching. Her husband JIm has made 24 boxes . Lumber was donated by Plano Farmers Grain Co.. Steve moved we give Jim Stoner a gift certificate from the Williamburg as a "Thank You" for his time. ?lotion carried. Bulls tickets are in, for 7 : 30 p.m. Jan. 25 and April 11 , 1991 . Steve moved purchases will be limited to 6 per person. ?lotion carried. Beacon ?dews contacted office wanting us to cooperate with special addition. It was felt we get good publicity. 'Phis cost was $44. 00 so decided to san ?do. Ann would like more assistance from the police department can dance nights . Bill Baird will see if this is possible. Bill is taking several quesitons to the board for clarification. Steve moved we pay bills as presented by Ann. Seconed and carried„ It -was determined that $119 . 30 of the Plano Farmers bill was the cities. Steve then questioned the purchase of materials for the court at Swim Club before we passed on them. Bills attached. Steve has a very small evergreenm given by a Senior organzation. He will plant it in f.lowerbed at City Hall until it is large enough to move., Bill Baird asked that our Board make a list of priorities, so we can see where we are going. Meeting Adjourned .
