Park Board Minutes 1989 07-10-89 Minutes of Yorkville Park Board Meeting 7/10/89 7: 00 p.m. meeting called to order Members present: Steve Brigde, Mary Kay Price, Mike Welton, Cindy Davidson , Gary Bown, Stormy Gray. Members absent: Bob Evans Bills presented by Stormy, motion to accept and pay bills as presC.'�nted� by Mike Welton, 2nd. by Cindy Davidson. Roll call; unanimous aye . Present budget discussed and strategy for planning neXt years budget discussed. Ald. Bown informed the Board that a proposed budget had to be submitted to the Council by Feb. 1, 1990. Stormy said that she has received several complaints about the shabby condition of the baseball fields at the Beecher property. Shabby condition of property in general was discussed. Many weeds growing up in bushes and grass around the Beecher Building. Cindy Davidson suggested that perhaps the Park Board could use the services of those people who were sentenced to du Community service work by the courts to help clean-up and maintain the area. She volunteered to contact Jan McCann, the County Probation Officer to see if such an arrangement could be made. New backstop( s ) purchase, placement and installation were discussed with Mike Welton and Steve Bridge each presentir5 their views on the backstop situation. J Steve Bridge made a motion to put in 4 diamonds in44f configuration that was presented to, and accepted by the State, several months ago. The Yorkville Womens Club also accepted the same plan. Cindy Davidson 2nd. Mike Welton got up and left the meeting at this point. A vote by the remaining members to accept the motion was a unanimous aye , with Steve Bridge being the acting Chairman in Mr. Welton' s absence. Cindy Davidson made a motion that Steve Bridge be given the authority to purchase two backstops for no more than $4 , 000. 00 and two sets of sideline fences for no more than $2 , 000. 00. 2nd. by Mary Kay Price. The vote was unanimous for acceptance of the motion. Officers are to be elected at next month' s meeting, 8/14/89 . Motion to adjourn by Steve Bridge, 2nd. by Mary Kay Price. Adjourned at 9: 10 p.m. r
