Cecelia Sanders , who works for Senior Services would like the Park Board to consider dividing the Daley Room in half so that Sr. Services could move most of their desks , etc. into that area, and thus alleviate the overcrowding they now face in their present circumstances in the Austin Room. They would also like to be able to divided the Perkins Room in half when necessary. This would be accomplished by means of folding room dividing panels of some sort. The cost of this project would be in the area of 18 , 000. 00 to*20, 000. 00 dollars . Sr. Services has some money for this , but won ' t know exactly how much until some time later. Other alternative solutions for their space problems were discussed and this situation will be looked into further and discussed at the next several mettings . Steve Bridge told the Board about the Ice Arena project that was presented to the City Council a couple of weeks ago by Steve Devik and Nancy Sleezer. This was to be a memorial arena to Todd Campbell, Nancy' s son. Mr. Devik proposed building the arena and then turning over the payments and operation to the City. This would amount to no less than $10, 000. 00 per month to run. A figure way beyond the relm of the Park Board' s or even the City ' s budget. It was suggested to Mrs . Sleezer that perhaps the YMCA would be interested inland more able to handle a project like this . Stormy asked if we could get a pop/juice machine in the lobby of the Beecher Building. All of the ladies in exercise classes and the children in the gymnastics , tumbling, dance, etc. classes are mighty thirsty when they get out and would like to be able to buy a can of pop or juice when they are done with class. Steve Bridge talked about moving Shoe String Park. Fran Klaas , City Engineer said that the City equipment could take it out and move it to its new site , but that we would need to find some help in reassembling. . Robt. E. Lee Building Co. , Inc. would donate the use of a post hole digger to help reassemble the equipment. We just need to find volunteers to run the machine and pound nails . Little League coaches and Soft Ball League coaches should be contacted as well as the kid's parents to ask for help in moving the Park and putting it back together. The Park Board also has $1 , 000. 00+-to purchase some new playground equipment . We will have to decide what sort of equipment we need and then let the Women' s Club choose the specific piece or pieces. Stormy informed the Board that she has another part-time job as a teacher' s aide at Yorkville Grade School form 1 to 4 p.m. . She assured the Board that this job would not interfere with her duties as Recreation Director. Stormy and Ann will be attending a conference on Drug Abuse on Oct. 1st and 2nd. in Oakbrook. Total cost of the conference will be $206 . 00. A motion to approve their attending the conference with the Park Board paying for it was made by Steve Bridge, 2nd. by Cindy Davidson.
