Park Board Minutes 1989 12-18-89 Yorkville Park Board Decemner 18 , 1989 Meeting called ro order at 7: 15 p.m. Members present: Sieve Bridge , Mark KAy Price , Dave Schmelzle , Cindy Davidson and Gary Bown. Members absent: Dave Dockendorf Bill presented: Fox Valley Fencing bill to be turned over to the City for payment out of Land-Cash Fund. Bill for playground equipment also to be given to City for reimbursemrnt from Land-Cash fund. Steve Bridge made a motion to pay the bills as presented by Mary Kay Price. 2nd. by Dave Schmelzle, unanimous aye . Stormy Gray sent a letter with Mary Kay in which she asked four questions . #1 . The CNC wants a member of the Park Board to attend their meetings . No one volunteered. #2 . Stormy asked for permission to be able to purchase tickets for sporting events , as needed, between Board meetings . The Board decided to leave things as they are . #3 . Stormy asked for $60 . 00 to be able to buy little gifts for all of the Instuctors . D.S. made a motion to approve , S.B. 2nd. , unanimous aye . #4 . Stormy would like to know what to do with all of the receipt books she eC Chas in her desk drawer. Gary Bown said he would ask the Cit �reaasuHrofiow long we need to kkep them and where could we store them. Mary Kay Price said that the Women ' s Club would like to have input concerning the playground and it 's equipmeent . Dave Schmelzle reported that the School District ( Jeff Storm) said it was O.K. for the Rec . Dept . to use Parkview School gym for some of it 's classes . STormy would be totally responsible for the key to the building. The mowing of the baseball fields by the School District was done until school let-out. Then, the City took over, but it was kind of hit or miss . The Mayor arrived at 7:45 p.m. and he said that the City is planning on hiring someone for the summer whose job will be to mow for the Rec . Dept . before anything else . OVER Budget discussion. We need to get a new one for 1990/91 ready to present to the City Council for February. 8 : 20 p.m. Dave Docksteder arrived (was caught in traffic ) . Ball diamonds on Van Emmon Rd. discussed. Because of saftey reasons it was suggested that the east diamond be removed, turned into parking and that the west diamond be improved. DAve Docksteder said that Oliver Structures would be willing to help out with improving and repairing the diamonds . Raises for the Director and Asst . Director discussed. Mark Kay Price volunteered to try the Secretary of the Board position for a few months . Next meeting set for January 8 , 1990 at 7: 00 p.m. , Beecher Bldg.
