Adjournment Pale 1 of 3 Yorkville Public Library Board of Trustees March 10, 2008 7 :00 pm. The meeting was called to order at 7 :00 pm by Vice-President Marianne Wilkinson. Roll Call Members present: Gail Gaebler, Beth Gambro, Barb .lolmson, Carol LaChance, Sandy Lindblom, and Marianne Wilkinson . Members absent: .10 Arm Gryder, Ashley Meyers, and Marilyn Vorderer. Library Director Michelle Pfister and Owner's Rep Tom Lindblom were present. Recognition of Visitoi-s None , Amendments to the Agenda Table the Executive Session until next month Minutes Barb .Johnson moved to approve the minutes as corrected Sandy Lindblom seconded the motion. All were in favor. Correspondence There was a gift and a card from the Library Director° at the Oswego Public Library for their tour . There was also a letter from the Old Barn Museum . Public Comment None. Report of the Treasurer There was some discussion about some of the items on the bill list. Barb .Johnson moved to approve the bills in the amount of $32,207 .58 and payroll in the amount of $30,610 51 . Gail Gaeblei seconded the motion. All voted to pass with a roll call vote Report of the Library Director Michelle Pfister reported what had been happening in the library the past month , 6,542 patrons came in February. Circulation for February was 11 ,542 which is up 4,548 from last year. There were 151 new patrons and 877 items added. There was a $45 donation from the book club and a $60 brick purchased by the staff for Patty Bradstreet's brother . 869 DVD's were checked out in February. Michelle would like to put a limit on the number of DVD's that can be checked out at one time Pape 2 of 3 The library will be having how to use the Internet classes . Laptops will be needed There are G tables in the room where the classes will meet and 2 laptops will fit at each table 1 printer will also be needed Laptops cost approximately $ 1 ;000 each and a basic printer will cost between $200 - $300 Barb Johnson moved to purchase 8 laptops to start with at approximately $ 1 .000 each and 1 printer Carol I. aChance seconded the motion All voted to pass with a roll call vote Michelle Pfister has applied f'or a mini grant. It is called Picture America . If the library is selected , it will receive 40 pictures to display There was discussion about the board packet being on the Internet; including the names and pay of the staff Gail Gaebler will put together a letter to the City Administrator requesting the information still be in the board member's packets, but that the detailed payroll not be published on the Internet Citv Council Liaison / Human Resource None Standing Committees 6 Policv - None © Personnel -- None . m CommunityRelations - None ® Finance -- None . 0 Automation - None. Unfinished Business Building Update - Tom Lindblom reported what had been happening with the additions to the library and the Historical Wing remodel The lighting for the North wall and the Children's program room will be $21 ,424 Barb Johnson moved to table this issue until next month Carol LaChance seconded the motion All were in favor There was a quote f'or $2;750 from Le Cure Painting for the exterior painting that has to be done. Baru Johnson moved to pay $ 2; 750 to paint the exterior. Beth Gambro seconded the motion All voted to pass with a roll call vote, There was also a quote for $ 1 ,750 to paint an accent color up tine 'lain stairwell Barb .Johnson moved to table this issue The motion was seconded All were in favor New Business Trustee Workshop - Jo Ann Gryder had requested these Nvmkshops One is for orientation and the other is for basic Illinois library law and taxation they will both be on the same day Other Trustees front the area will be invited Library Fsntrance - In 2010 Game harm Road will be re-done The city is doing the design work now The entrance can be re-installed as it is now, or as it was originally proposed The consensus was to have it te-installed at it was proposed Pape 3 of 3 Exeeutive Session This will be postponed until next month Adiournment The meeting was adjourned at 8 : 30 pm .
