DISCUSSION ( IDENTIFY BY NUMBER) 1) Steve Bridge president of the nark board, inquired about the necessary repairs of the Lion's Club tennis courts. The possibility of changing the court to basketball will be discussed after discussion with the Lion's members and after another estimate is given. _2) Mike McCuLrjZ returned to discuss the temporary repairs made on his street and the future repairs that are being planned. 3) Jop Moore zzassed out a table to show the high increase in water usage for the month of August. An article in the Record will ask homeowners to try to conserve water in the near future. An article will also be nut in the Newsletter. 4) A sample letter requesting homeowners to allow to have their water tested was handed out. The letter was approved generally and will be mailed out. 5) The no_parking signs on Liberty St. will be installed soon. h) Tnstallins stop signs on Main at McHugh and Liberty at Main was discussed and wi l l be f3rr her looked d into Also di sc„caad hm,s movi= the stop signs on Spring at Colton to Spring at Liberty. 3) Don Peck asked if a class in Advanced Water Supply is required for Joe Moore and J.T. Johnson. The general consensus is that tuition and travel expenses will be covered but wages per hour will not be compensated Rl Don Peak introduced the idea of installing back flow preventors at all new meter installations or replaced meters more estimates will be gathered, then discussion will continue. RECOMMENDATIONS ( IDENTIFY BY SAME NUMBER AS ABOVE) 9) CmmP2n-,atiOn for the damage at thp Farm Bureau was dicussed Further discussion will ensue when Mr. Kramer is present. 10) It was decided that installation of a new P V C gas pipe by N.T. Gas should be halted until more information regarding the pipe is conveyed to the Council _17_L Mr_ Peck asked nproval to use the city car for transnortation to and from the City. Discussion will be furthered at a later date. 12) Mr. Barna suggested removing the crossing guard position at Route 126. Council agreed that the position is unnecessary, as only five out of a possible nine children have crossed the first week of school. 13) Pat Clark passed out informational packets on the police. force for members to read; in order to discuss them at the next meeting. 14) The apathy of people representing different groups such as library park boards was discussed. After researching attendance and other aspects, discussion will continue. 15) Jack Jones brought to council a request from the owner of the pet shop downtown to be allowed to install signs outside of and hanging from the building. He and other business owners will come to a future Committee meeting to discuss this. 16) The possibility of using Parkview as an administrative building was touched unon. As estimates and opinions are still being gathered, discussion will continue at a later date. 17) Questions regarding the City Clerk such as installing a phone, answering machine and typewriter in her home were addressed.
