DISCUSSION ( IDENTIFY BY NUMBER)
1) Barry Niles returned to inquire about his east auestion of traveling posted
roads this winter. It was generally decided that this would most likely not be a
problem, as McHugh and Spring should not be posted roads
2) Mike-1g6Curd-\r also returned to remind Committee of the problem at the end of
Washington St. Don Peck will analyze the problem and return with a possible
solution to Committee and also to Mr. McCurdy.
�) The Farm Bureau had asked Council for $3,000 to go toward the repairs of their
property which they believe was damaged by pressure from the sewer. This will
hold until discussion with Mr. Kramer.
4) Don will recomend a solution for repairing the main St. tennis courts at next
Committee meeting. The nr _sent bid seeds unusually high to him
5) There was a short discussion on the employee manual and it was decided that it is
necessary to edit the manual and clear-up some parts of it.
6) Don is still researching the cost for the water, sewer, and storm water base maps.
�) The possibility of installing sidewalks on Orange and Mill Sts. was discussed
This will be further discussed with Mr. Storm.

This will be looked into, along with increasing the parking area at the Beecher
Center. One or the other will eventually be necessary.
9) Don discussed three things with Mr. Don Young: a storm easement, the condition of
his street in front of his house, and the repair of the storm sewer. All three
were generally solved between Mr. Young and non Peck.
RECOMMENDATIONS ( IDENTIFY BY SAME NUMBER AS ABOVE)
In) 'T'ha ton!(,- of City Stickers will be brought up at Council next week and will be voted on.
11) non suggested installing casing pipes under 47 & 71 now, rather than wait until
it is necessary due to development. Prices will be brought to Council next week.
12) Tt waS decided that Mr. Fey T,ill n-turn to the Kendall Countv Economic Development
the decision that the City of Yorkville is not interested in the

services they have offered.
13) The bill for the recapture of the Land-nark lot is past due. This will be
turned over to Mr. Kramer.
14) The TEPA loan application is done and will be mailed tomorrow. (8-16-91) .
15) Don passed out a Memo that included the pager numbers of the Mayor, Cite
Administrator, and Public Works.
16) A letter was received from a woman who is planning to sue the City..due to
an accident (she tripped and fell) she encountered in downtown Yorkville.
This matter will be turned over to Mr. Kramer.
17) Pat Clark inquired about the poor conditions of the culverts on Washington
St. Don Peck will analyze the situation and advise Council next week.
18) The Illinois Bell Telephone Agreement that'was submitted will be given to
Mr. Kramer for approval.
19) Mr. Barna passed out a letter from Dan Kramer and asked for Committee opinion
on the two tonics included in the letter. A decision will be made at
Council next week.
20) Mr. Barna turned in a bid from Larry Jensen for the needed computer work
station at the Police Department. By the first week of September it should
be known if the City can afford this addition.
21) Mr. Barna handed out a proposal to promote two officers to sergeant. He will
discuss this further with Pat Clark so she can bring it up at Council next
week.
22) A promoter for Casey General Store is planning to further investigate the
possibility of bringing their store to the past site of Green's Amoco on 47
and Main St.
23) To discuss salary schedules, it was recommended that Committee go into
Executive Session. Motion Baird - 2nd Fey to to into Executive Session.
at 10:13 p.m. in order to discuss deliberations concerning salary schedules
for one or more classes of municipal employees.

24) Employee manual and salary schedules were discussed.
25) Mr. Fey will attempt to contact employee representatives about salary
increases.
Clark moved, Fey seconded to adjourn the August 15,1991 regular meeting. 11:52 p.m.
