' MOFFICIAL MEETING OF THE PLAN COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YORKVILLE
HELD AT CITY HALL ON JULY 24, 1984 AT 7:30 P.M.
Re: 84.4 - Mike McCurdy's request for considerations to the possible
easement provisions for obtaining a building permit
The official meeting of the plan commission was cancelled due to the lack of
a quorum. The next meeting will be August 28, 1984 to be held at City Hall
at 7:00 p.m.
Members present at the unofficial meeting were Mr. Stewart, Mr. Holdiman,
Mr. Ament, and Mr. Langland. Also in attendance were Larry Jennings, Bill
Barkley, Jim Johnson, Jim Clarage, Mike McCurdy, and Mrs. Zeiter.
Mr. Johnson stated that Mike McCurdy's property was approximately a four acre
plot at the end of Washington Street. The way the easement is., it would take
120 feet off of his property. The City has proposed putting in a 6-inch
water main in the future. Mr. McCurdy questioned whether he would be granted
a building permit at this time. He stated that he would like to have his
garage as close as possible to the front of the property so as to avoid the
high cost of paving. Mr. Langland questioned whether the City planned to do
any looping. Mr. McCurdy felt that looping would only be to his benefit.
The members felt that if Mr. McCurdy were to build 60 feet back, he would be
okay. Mr. Jennings felt a 120 foot easement would not be feasible. The
members could not see any reason to refuse Mr. McCurdy in obtaining a
building permit. Mr. McCurdy thanked the commission for there time.
Mr. Jennings stated that he would not bring the fencing and swimming pool
ordinances back to the commission until the next meeting in August.
Mr. Clarage questioned the members as to whether they had given any thought
to the comprehensive plan. Mr. Langland felt that the best time to start
work on the plan would be at the end of the summer. He also felt that the
commission should take one step of the plan at a time. Mr. Clarage stated
that he would like to do the plan in a color format. He stated that the
commission should include funding for grants for the downtown redevelopment.
Mr. Langland invisioned the future downtown as running parallel to the Fox
River with Specialty Shops.
