MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE YORKVILLE PLAN COMMISSION
JUNE 26, 1973
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Anderson. Those
in attendance were Mr. Anderson, Mr. Mahoney, Mr. Langland, Mr.
Feltz, Mr. Olsen, Mr. Madden and Mr. Dollman. Harold Carlson of
the office of James B. Clarage, planning consultant, was also
present.
Mr. Langland made a motion to approve the minutes of
the previous meeting, seconded by Mr. Mahoney. All voting aye.
Motion carried.
Mr. Anderson announced the resignation from the commission
of Fred Schneider and George Walters, an advisory member from the
Yorkville Zoning Board of Appeals.
6.01 Aegean Isle Estates
Mr. Mahonev made a motion to table any action on this
property to the next meeting because no exhibits or blueprints
were submitted to explain the planned use of the property. This
was seconded by Mr. Dollman. Voting: Mr. Anderson yes, Mr. Mahoney
yes , Mr. Langland yes , Mr. Dollman yes , Mr. Feltz yes.Motion carried
6.02 Countryside Center Subdivision
Developer Robert Loftus presented a preliminary plat for
construction of 16 four unit apartment buildings in an area of
Countryside Center Subdivision bounded by Kendall Drive, Countryside
Parkway and Center Parkway. Mr. Loftus is petitioning to resubdivide.
Mr. Claragets firm prepared some recommendations on the plat,
including: 1) elimination of parking in the front yards, which is
the setback area, 2) providin a fire lane connection to connect the
two dead end driveways, and a� the addition of turnaround tees. Mr.
Madden pointed out that five of the16 lots did not confrom to the
1968 ordinance stating that all lots must abut on a public street.
Mr. Mahoney made a motion to recommend approval of the petition to
resubdivide with Mr. Claragets recommendation to eliminate parking
in the set back areas and with a notation that lots 10, 11, 12,154
and 16 do not confrom to the city ordinance stating that lots must
abut on a public street. This was seconded by Mr. Dollman. Voting:
Mr. Anderson.- yes , Mr. Mahoney yes, Mr. Langland gyres , Mr. Dollman
yes, Mr. Feltz yes and Mr. Olsen 'res. Motion carried.
Following a request from Mr. Loftus' attorney, Tony Bassak,
Mr. Mahoney made a motion to authorize the chairman of the commis-
sion to sign the final plat of Countryside Center Subdivision, if the
Yorkville City Council approves it. This was seconded by Mr. Feltz.
All voting acre. Motion carried.
Ponderosa
John Bazan presented a final plat for the Ponderosa dev-
elopment, six lots on Van Emmon Road, within one and a half miles
of the Yorkville city limits. Mr. Olsen made a motion to recommend
approval of the final plat of the development if approved by the
Yorkville City Council, seconded by Mr. Feltz. All voting aye:
Motior. carried.
Rev. Lawrence Rezash, of the Yorkville Congregational
Church, spoke with members of the commission on studies conducted
by the Kendall County Senior Citizens Council to find solutions
to the housing problems of senior citizens in the county. He
discussed several possible types of public housing programs with
the members, but no action was taken.
Mr. Madden reported on the Developmental Control and
Growth Policy seminar he attended June 22 and 23 in Zion.
