MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE YORKVILLE PLAN COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 21, 1972
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Anderson. Those
In attendance were: Mr. Anderson, Mr. Mahoney, Mr. Langland,
Mr. Ford , Mr. Olsen and Mr. Schneider.
Mr. Ford made a motion to approve the minutes of the
previous meeting with the change from ".078" acres to " .78"
acres on the John Conover property, seconded by Mr. Langland .
All voting aye. Motion carried.
11.0= Thurow Residence (Fox Road and Main Street)
Mr. and Mrs . Jay Beckley petitioned to rezone the property
at the southwest corner of Fox Road and Main Street from "Residenis±
District Uses" to "Legal Profession Building Uses ." They plan
to purchase the propert v and use the building as a law office .
Mr. Langland questioned whether there was sufficient space on the
property for off street parking. Some commission members also
questioned rezoning the property to "Legal Professional Building
Uses" when it is shown on the proposed land use map as residential.
Mr. Anderson made a motion to recommend approval of the petition
to rezone, seconded by Mr. Schneider. Voting: Mr. Anderson no,
Mr. Mahoney no, Mr. Langland no, Mr. Ford yes, Mr. Olsen yes, and
Mr. Schneider yes .
11.02 Robert J. Mahoney (County)
This is a petition to rezone lots 11, 12 and 16 of Country-
side Subdivision from "Residential" to "Residential Special Use."
The lots are adjacent to the Hillside Nursing Home property.
Mr. Schneider made a motion to recommend to the County Planning
Commission the rezoning of the three lots, seconded by Mr. Olsen.
Voting: Mr. Anderson yes, Mr. Mahonev abstain, Mr. Langland yes,
Mr. Ford yes, Mr. Olsen yes and Mr. Schneider yes . Motion carried.
11.03 James B. Clarage
Mr. Clatage, a planning consultant with offices in Lock-
port, presented a sample of the work he has done for other cities
and could do for Yorkville He presented a proposal for a one year
contract , which would include his attendance at all Yorkville
Plan �;ommission meetings.
11.04 William S. Lawrence
A proposal for continuation of the city of Yorkville's
contract with the William S . Lawrence and Associates firm as
read. It outline the scope of services that would be provAded
by that planning firm.
Mr. Olsen made a motion to recommend to the City Council
the acceptance of the proposal by James B. Clarage for a trial
period of one year, with a 30 day cancellable notloe , �xhlah would
call for the attendance of Mr,, Clarage at each moynt�,11,-,
the Yorkville Plan Commission. Thi6 was
