Meeting of December 15 , 1971
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 Phi.
MenOjers Present; Wm. Ford, Larry Langeland, Fred Schneider, George
Walters, Bob Mahoney, ve7alter Olsen, Leo Anderson. Members Absentf
Vernon Florence, James Ball.
The minutes of the rc,c colar meeting of November 17 and the special
meeting of uec:err,�,ur 1 were react and approved.
Old Business : Chairman Anderson noted that the revised printing of
the proL,osc<;. plannin,i any: zoning. ordinancN was not rEady, due to
a relay at the printers.

was read by Chairman Anderson. Mr. Themas M. Devens and Mr. James R.
Emmet, real estate ::opresentatives of the Standard Oil Company, and
Mr. John An derscin, representing the ownsx of the property, were
present.. Ater a thor^ugn discussion cot.cerning tine type of building,
number of signs, size of signs, access to the property, storage and
parking facii.ities, capacity of unldergrovr. '. storage tinks,and business
hours, Chairman Anderson called for objectors. :done responded. A
notion was made by Larry Lang^ela:id, secondE_U b-v Fred. Schneider, that
the Commission recu,-rmen3 approval of the p-.�tii_ion. Chairman Anderson
called for a roll call vote. Respoziding; Bo'o Mahoney, Yes; Larry
Langeland, Yes; Wm. Ford, Yes; Walter Oisen, Yes; Frei Schneider,
Abstaining; George ;'alters, Abstaining, ; Leo Anderson, Yes. The
;Motion was carried. The Commission noted that the Cclonial type of
_ building -.,;as in keeping with the residential character of the neighbor_-
hood a d that the Standard Oil representatives stated that storage
of tires and other iter'ls would b- inside ti.e building. The Commission
reconnuended to the Standard Oil representatives that the sign be kept
to a moderate size. It was agreed that they petition and a copy of the
plans would be sent to Charles Kincaid of 1�m.. Lawrence & Assoc. for
his opinion and suggested recommendations.
The resignation of James Hall as a member of the Comntissicn was read-
by Chairman Anderson. His resignation was accepted at the last
meeting of the City Council, and Fred Dollir-an has been appointed to
take his place.
It was noted that a meeting on the transportation plan for Kendall
County, with a report by Charles Kincaid, will be hel3 Wed. , Dec. 22.
On motion by George Walters, seconded by Larry Langeland, the meeting
was adjourned at 8:45 to meet next on Thursday, Jan. 27, 1972.
