CARRYING FOODSTUFFS

Section 1. It shall be unlawful to use or permit the
use of any vehicle, including wagons and motor vehicles and
vehicles propelled by human power, for the storage or carrying
of any meat, poultry, fish, butter, cheese, lard, vegetables,
bread or baker products, or any other provisions intended for
human consumption, including beverages and milk, in the Village
of Yorkville for the purpose of delivering any such foodstuffs
to any place in the Village of Yorkville for use and consumption
or for resale in the Village for such purposes, unless a license
for such vehicle is first securea and the -orovisions of this
ordinance are fully complied with.
Section 2. Applications for such licenses shall 'be
made to the Village Clerk, and shall contain the name and address
of the owner of the vehicle, a description of the vehicle, in-
eluding engine number , the name or names of the persons from whom
such deliveries are made, and the nature of the goods carried.
In the event of change , in names or additions to the persons for
during any. licensing period
whom deliveries are mad(y, the licensee will within 10 days from
such change or addition furnish the same to the Village Clerk.
The Village Clerk, upon issuing any license, shall furnish the
Chief of P61ice of the Vill-age of Yorkville, the name
of such licensee and a description of the vehicle for which the
license was issued.
The annual fee for such licenses shall b ,A_'^ !=Twenty
dollars for each vehicle, and shall be issued for one year beginning
as the first day of 'May of each year. Such fee shall be paid to
the Village Clerk for the use of said Village.
Section 3. No license fee shall be required for any
vehicle used to deliver foodstuffs from any estalishment which
'is licensed and inspected as a food dealing establishment in the
Village; but all provisions of this ordinance, other than that
providing for the payment of a fee, shall be complied with in
connection with such vehicles.
Section 4. All such vehicles shall be kept in a clean
and sanitary condition and shall be thoroughly cleaned each day
they are so used. It shall be unlawful to permit stale food, de-
caying matter, or any other waste material or product to accumulate
in or on any such vehicle while it is so used.
If unwrapped foodstuffs or foodstuffs in bulk are trans-
ported in any such vehicle such goods shall be carried in a portion
or compartment of the vehicle which is screened and protected against
dust and insects.
Section 5. It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police
of the Village of Yorkville to make or cause to be made such in-
spections as may be necessary to insure compliance with the pro-
visions of this ordinance.
Section 6. Any person, firm or corporation violating
any provision of this ordinance shall be fined not less than
five dollars nor more than one hundred dollars for each offense;
and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day
during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
Any license issued under the provision of this ordinance

may be revoked by the President of the Village"of,,Yorkville for

any violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance, and such
revocations shall be in addition to any fine imposed by virtue
of this ordinance.
Section 7. The invalidity of any part or section hereof
shall not effect the validity of the remainder hereof.
Section S. All moneys received in behalf of said Village
under any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be turned over
by the person receiving same, to the Village Treasurer who shall
forthwith deposit such funds in the general corporate fund of
said Village.
Section 9. Nothing herein contained shall prohibit any
person, firm or corporation growing and raising produce, meat or
vegetables from matketing the sane in the Village of Yorkville
without procuding a license hereunder.
Section 10, This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and -oublication as required
by law.
