Ordinance 1950-61
Be it ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois:-- Section 1. That Sections 31 and 32 of the Water Works Ordinance of the Village of Yorkville as passed and approved January 4, 1934 be amended to read as follows:- Section 31. (a) Meters shall be read quarterly and bills for water furnished shall be mailed on the first day of July, October, January and April, of each year and all bills and charges for water rents and other services are payable at the office of the Village Treasurer. (b) The following water rents, charges or rates are hereby es- tablished and shall be collected for all water consumption and water service rendered by the Village of Yorkville, for which each service shall be by meter registration. Three Dollars ($3.00) for each three hundred fifty (350) or fraction thereof per quarter. Twenty five cents ($0.25) per one hundred . (100)cubia feet over three hundred fifty (350) cubic feet to and including five thousand (5,000) cubic feet Twenty cents ($0.20) per one hundred (100) cubic feet above five thousand (5,000) cubic feet; a discount of five (5) per cent of the face of the bill will be allowed if paid N 1 within T,E o qty (3a) days from date of mailing of bill, pro- vided there is no discount on charges for repairs. (c) The above rates are for a quarter of a year or fraction thereof. (d) All charges for water service shall be due and payable up-- on rendition and mailing of notice of amount to the owner or tenant, and shall become delinquent at the expiration of thirty days from said date of mailing, and for the purpose of enforcing the lien provided by Article 75 &w*6*w-VfF Paragraph 4 of Chapter 24 Illinois Revised Statutes 1949, the fortieth day following the first day of the respective , quarter, is hereby fixed as a delinquency date. Section 32. Where no deposits are made or where the deposit is not maintained, the owner of the premises served shall be held responsible for the payment of all water rentals and all other proper charges in connection with water service to his Premises, but such payments will be .accepted from tenants if tandered by' them, but accepting payments from tenants shall not subsequently relieve the owner of the premises from the respon- sibilEty of paying water rentals or other service charges when due or relieve the real estate from the lien hereinafter pro- vided. Section 2. That a new section be added to said ordinance, designated Section 32a as follows:- Section 32a:- A Colleotor For`*;yvater rentals and charges may be selected by the Village of Yorkville, whose duties shall bonsist of keeping all meter records, computing; charges, mail- ing bills for water service and charges and collecting the same; he ahgll furnish bond in such sum as the Village Board shall direct, and at the end of each month shall turn over to the Village Treasurer all sums collected by him together with a report giving name and amount of such collection, and in addition quarterly shall report to the Village Board which report may consist of copies of the report made to the Vt.11gge Treasurer; he shall also when requested furnish a list of all delinquencies to the Superintendent of Water Works or Water Works Committee of the Village Board, and shall receive as • compensation such sum as may be fixed by the Village Board. Section 3. Any violation of the provisions , hereof shall constitute a misdemeanor and be punishable by a fine not to exceed One Hundred Dollars. Section 4. All provisions of the ordinance of which this oridiance is t, ad;uadtdndment except as changed hereby are hereby ratified and confirmed. Section 5.
