Be It Ordained by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois:
Section One:
That the Police Department of said Village shall consist
of one, two, or three policemen who shell have all powers of con-
servators of the peace `"who shall be appointed by the president
from available persons by and with the approval of the trustees.
Section Two:
That such persons are not officers of the Village but are
employees with tine powers aforesaid.
Section Three:
That the employment shall be by shifts of not to exceed
five hours, with no more than one person to be used on any shift,
and such shifts to- comilience at such time and continue for such
hours as may be directed by the Village Board, police committee,
or any member of such board or committee.
Section Four:
Eacix person called for shift work hereunder shall be paid
the sum of ',14.00 for each shift to include use of automobile of
such person called, and for all service rendered monthly bills shall
be submitted to the Village, giving names, dates end hours of ser-
vice, together with reports of arrests and other matters concerning;
service as relay be required 'by the police comwi.ttee.
Section Five:
For the fiscal year commencing May 1, 1947, a sum of not
exceeding 1,54 0 O° , is made available to pay the com.
pensation of appointees rendering service hereunder.
Section Six:
This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its pas
sage al .a.:;proval. *AX
