Bristol Bay 65 Development Review of Request for Proposals – Tim sent everyone on the board a copy
to review. Tim said this is an informational meeting because this will be voted on in a couple weeks at
the city council meeting.

Tim asked the board if they have any concerns on the proposal and where the board would like the
money to be spent. Tim would like the board to make a recommendation on where the money should
be spent. Tim said just a couple ideas tonight would be helpful for the city council. Recreation is an area
that needs to be addressed and this is an opportunity that the city doesn’t see very often. Tim wants to
see some of the money to go to Recreation, since the city has a lot of parks.
Tim said that more program room at the REC building would be a good idea – the city could expand
where the back parking lot is now. Tim said it is possible to build on more if the city purchases the
parking lot next to the REC. Lynn said asking price is $200,000 for the lot, but it could be negoatied. Tim
said another option is buying new playground equipment for older parks. Tim said that REC is an area
that helps things grow.
Dan said there are 36 parks and he thinks the city has plenty of parks for 17,000 people. Dan said losing
the REC Center made the city low on space and he feels that money should be spent on REC. The board
asked about the Beecher Center. They discussed Beecher. Amy said it would be easy to spend the
money and there is not a question as to if the city needs it.
Tim feels that the city is really lacking in the Recreation area. Scott said the Bristol 65 grant is meant for
a skate park – he doesn’t think all the money should go to a skate park because the city wanted to do
trails, parking, volleyball and shelters along with the skate park. The board discussed the grant and
different plans for the grant.
Tim said he will put in those options for city council.
