RESOLUTION NO. 2006- �a3
RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT OF THE PROPOSED PRAIRIE PARKWAY
AND FUTHERMORE SUPPORTING ROUTE B -5
WHEREAS, THE UNITED CITY OF YORKVILLE, Kendall County, Illinois,
hereinafter called the CITY, as well as surrounding communities and unincorporated
areas near the CITY continue to experience population growth, and
WHEREAS, the CITY has supported the proposed Prairie Parkway, including the
passage of Resolution 2002 -1, on February 5, 2002, and
WHEREAS, the CITY has considered the alternative routes for the proposed Prairie
Parkway generally at the southern end of the proposed routes, and
NOW THEREFORE, the Mayor and City Council of the UNITED CITY OF
YORKVILLE, do hereby choose to support the Prairie Parkway path identified by IDOT
as B -5, which crosses Route 47 just south of Caton Farm Road, and traverses south and
east to connect with Interstate 80 near Minooka, IL.

FURTHERMORE, the Mayor and City Council of the UNITED CITY OF

YORKVILLE continue to urge I.D.O.T. Officials to work with the City and maintain a
diligent effort to improve Illinois Route 47 and U.S. Route 34 thus providing safe and
efficient passage while minimizing impact through the CITY.
