AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE UNITED
CITY OF YORKVILLE,KENDALL COUNTY, ILLINOIS REGULATING
TRUCK AND COMMERCIAL VEHICLES; LOADS AND WEIGHTS
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and City Council of the United
City of Yorkville, Kendall County, Illinois, as follows:
Section 1. Title 6, Chapter 1, Section 6, of the United City of Yorkville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended by deleting paragraph A and replacing with:
A. The wheel and axle load and gross weight restrictions contained in 625 Illinois
Compiled Statutes 5115-111, as amended from time to time, are hereby
adopted by Yorkville as if set forth verbatim herein,provided however, that:
East Main Street(from Illinois Route 47 to McHugh Road) and McHugh
Road(from East Main Street to U.S. Route 34), Corneils Road(from Route 47
to Eldamain Road), Boombah Boulevard(from the entrance of the Caledonia
subdivision approximately 2,150 feet west of Route 47 to Caledonia Drive),
and Baseline Road(from Route 47 to Eldamain Road) shall have a gross
vehicle weight limit of eight(8)tons.
The River Road Bridge over Blackberry Creek, identified by the Illinois
department of transportation as structure 047-3007, shall have a weight limit
of twenty two (22)tons for single unit vehicles,twenty nine(29)tons for
combination vehicles with three(3) or four(4)axles, and thirty six(36)tons
for combination vehicles with five(5) or more axles.
Section Z If any Section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Chapter
is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such
portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct, and independent provision, and such holding shall
not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval,
and publication as provided by law.
