Meeting Minutes of October 28, 2004
Location: Police Department Conference Room
Called to order: Mayor Art Prochaska called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m.

Amendments to the Agenda: None
Minutes for Approval; We did not have a quorum at the previous meeting, so there were
no minutes to approve.
Committee Reports
City Liaison+aison Report - Chief Martin had to attend another meeting so there were no
minutes.
City Council Report: - Rose Spears said the Library is moving forward.
MaTor: - Mayor A. Prochaska said he has information pertaining to additional business.
Parks and Recreation: - None
Library Board: - Referendum passed.
School District: - Waiting for someone to replace Doug as a liaison between the HRC
and the School District.

#1 Visitor's Center
We decided we would add an additional procedure to the Brochure development
guidelines.
Sylvia and I volunteered to retype the letter to send to any additional businesses that did
not respond to our initial request for information to add to the Visitor's Center.
The Mayor then brought up the fact that the HRC needs a new chairman. It was
discussed and Sylvia Kurtz and Diana Lento-Riedy decided to Co-chair the HRC until May.
New Business; Mayor Art Prochaska said he is looking to bring about some awareness for the
Youth in Yorkville.
In addition the Mayor would like to tie Character Counts with awards for adults. Looking
to start in about 1 month for recognition of people who exhibit Character Counts pillars. Every
month or every other month. The Mayor is considering involving everyone from the schools,
Health and Human Services, Police Department and Social Workers.
