Due to no City Officials being in attendance, the Committee present decided to start
discussion of the evening's agenda on hand at 4:45pm.
3. Update Regarding Senior Services Location: Bette Schoenholtz began
discussion stated that CNN is presently in the facility doing they're home delivery
meals and Senior Services and the Salvation Army will not be moving in there
until the end of November. This is due to the work going on in the east side of the
large room where the receptionist area. They are building it similar to what they
presently have in Countryside. Behind that area is where the Activity Director
will be located. Bette Schoenholtz herself will have an office where formerly
there was a storeroom for the Park District. The case manager will be located in
the large room as well as storage. The Salvation Army will have Senior Service's
steam table moved down over towards the pass thru window. The Salvation
Army will also have their desk down in that area along with storage, refrigerator
and freezer.
Bette Schoenholtz went on to state that it would be nice to move in earlier, but
they are wrestling with the idea that if they move right away, then they're moving
in with out the set up being completed for the Seniors to use the facility. The
lease is theirs as of November 1". They have not been able to begin packing yet
due to lack of time. The carpet is being picked out now as well.
She has spoken to the people setting up the blood drive and she assured them that
still could take place in the Beecher Building. That should be taking place around
the second Thursday in December.

Joan Parker questioned if people would still be able to rent rooms at the Beecher
Building for parties on the weekends and she was told for the most part yes. The
only thing that would limit that is the massive use of the Senior Service's
equipment. Identa Austin pointed out that it states in the will that there will be no
use by any church due to Beecher Building being a state building.
Senior Services pays the maintenance man, but for the most part it is agreed that
the community will still have just as much use around their schedule. The Senior
Services will not have to pay for the electric use as the agreement. There is
currently still Park District events planned there and expect them to use it on an
ongoing basis. For the most part they will work out any issues as they arise. The
rental funds for public use will go to the City, but Senior Services has a right to
charge for use of their equipment on top of what the City charges.
2. Guidelines for Requesting a Grant for Financial Support: Madonna Bialek
questioned what the City Council had questioned with the guidelines. No one
knew what the questions were. The group present looked over the guidelines
provided at this meeting and made some changes. The changes are as follows:
• Under"Who Can Apply?" in the second paragraph they would like it
to state: Only one application per agency may be submittedep r ye.
• Under"Who Can Apply?" in the second paragraph they would like it
to state: There will be a $250.00 maximum grant allowed.
The group discussed that with the $2,000.00 raised with the Polka Dance they
would be able to give out 8 grants.
1. Minutes for Approval/Correction: October 10, 2005: Kay Hatcher made the
motion to approve the minutes as written. Cecilia Sanders made the motion to
second the approval. With all stating"aye"the minutes were moved to be
approved as written for October 10, 2005.
The other items on the agenda were brought forward by Mayor Prochaska, so they
left those to go to the next agenda. The group set the next meeting for the first
Monday in December, the 5` at 4:30 pm. There was no additional business to
discuss. The meeting was adjourned at 5:03 pm
