call them and see if they want to seek approval, Diana stated both were Chamber members and
probably had received the letter seeking brochures. Space Maker Self Storage and River Heights
Veterinary Clinic were voted on. The letter Tom wrote was reviewed, thank you Torn, and this
will be sent out to all approved businesses, letting them know they have bee approved and will
be responsible for keeping their brochures up-to-date, and the slots filled. Diana made a motion
to accept and Madonna seconded. Accepted. The date should be removed, so it can be used
anytime. It should be put on City letterhead, then sent out.
Historical Street Names
Diana spoke to Glory. She has a vision for a project to tie the street naming in with the 17o"
Birthday of Yorkville. Diana has spoken to several at the schools to see if they would be
interested in holding contests in the schools for posters, etc,.

There was much discussion with points presented as to how the project would be done; would
individuals or classes be involved; flow much adult/teacher Delp would be involved; how much
research is currently available; what grade levels would be involved, etc..
It was proposed that the younger grades K —3`d, could make posters, and they could be a contest
for naming the event—"Founder's Day?"Middle school students could research names, using
the guidelines we currently have, and high school classes could interview long-time residents.
Long-time residents could come into the classrooms to talk about]low Yorkville was years ago.
We would need to send out the list of those who have been currently approved, so as to prevent
duplication. The information on why some were chosen could also be part of a history class,
history of Yorkville, especially with so many new people in the area.
Greg suggested that younger students might come up with just `names' that were general, not
specific and which did not meet the guidelines for a new list of names that could be used, not
necessarily of people, but of things or places that Wright be considered 'historical' to Yorkville.
There was discussion on possible dates for this, Since the 17& birthday is a whole year, we
could have some time, but the Riverfront Fest in Sept. is too close to the start of the school year.
Diana will talk to the school and to Glory about dates.
It was believed that the Senior Committee Senior grant was sent back to the City by the Ad Hoc
committee for revision on some points.
NEW BUSINESS
Plan for additional street names was discussed earlier in meeting.
