vacations) of the employee
manual discussed during the
finance meeting held 9/20/84
I submit the following clarification for your consideration.
1. During the first five (5) years of employment (starting on the
beginning date of employment) , an employee earns vacation
leave which accrues at the rate of two (2) weeks per year.
During the next five (5) years - three (3) weeks per year.
After the completion of ten (10) years - four (4) weeks per
year.
2. No vacation benefits will be paid to an employee if termina-
tion occurs during the first twelve (12) months of employ-
ment.

3. A new employee is eligible to take the vacation earned for
the first year of service immediately after completing lir
such year.
4. Employees are eligible to take their vaction anytimeduringL
the calendaryear regardless of individual anniversary dates
beginning dates of employment) . However, in the event of
an employees termination, a refund is due the City for any
vacation pay in excess of accrued vacation leave.
5. A first year employee with a beginning date late in the
calendar year may request approval to carry over vaction
leave into the following calendar year.
