Meeting called to order 6:38pm.

Bills for Payment: None
Old Business: Written test at YHS went well. All 11 applicants showed and
completed the test.
Last week Chief Martin and Chairman Johnson attended the Citizens Police
Academy alumni meeting to discuss the commission.
Commissioner Putzler asked about the validations for oral interview questions.
Chief Martin said he called Powers and as long as questions were job related we
should be OK. COPS said the books they came out of validated them. Powers said
we chose questions for new hires that were good. Powers wants to review the
questions we will use for promotions. COPS apologized for misunderstanding what
we were asking for when we were looking for the validation. If a problem should
arise we will subpoena COPS.
New Business: The commission reviewed the questions for Lieutenants oral
interview.
Commissioner Putzler asked what the job description of a Lieutenant was. Chief
Martin said in Yorkville it will be administrative except in the case of an emergency.
They will also oversee internal affairs.
Questions for the oral interviews of Lieutenants were discussed and agreed upon by
all.
Questions for the oral interviews of Sergeants were discussed and agreed upon by
all.
It was agreed that we would use the same rating form for the promotions with a few
changes. This would be discussed at our next meeting.
Agenda for our next meeting: rating form, written exam results for new hires.
02-18-02 at 6p.m. is the written test date for promotion at YHS.
Possible dates for oral interviews for new hires February 25-28.
Next meeting scheduled for—2-10-02 at 1:00pm.
Commissioner Putzler moved to adjourned, second by Commissioner Jensen.
