Human Resource Commission Minutes 1998 12-03-98City of Yorkville HUMAN RESOURCE COMMISSION 111 WEST FOX STREET YORKVILLE, IL 60560 Minutes for December 3, 1998 Meeting The meeting was called to order by Co-Chairman LuAnn Petters at 5:45PM. Members present: Co-Chairman Doug Trumble, Wanda Ohare, Diane Lento-Riedy, Rose Kahle (excuse), Robert James, Mayor Bob Johnson and Chief Tony Graff. Motion was made by D. Trumble to approve the November 5, 1998 minutes as read by Diane Lento-Riedy, 2nd by W. Ohare. Motion Passed Committee Reports: 1.City Liaison Chief Graff had no update on the Census 2000 project. Then Chief Graff requested the Human Resource Commission to facilitate the next Community police Officer Section Panel. Chief Graff explained the selection process and stated there will be between 2-4 more panel members from other agencies, such as; State Police States Attorney's office, Probation, Health Human Services . . . The Commission stated through consensus they would be honor to participate with the panel at there February Meeting. Old Business: 1. Discussion about the Mission statement was continued from the last meeting and the members suggested the Mission Statement should be printed on the bottom of each page as a strong reminder of our mission. MISSION STATEMENT Our Mission is to help make Yorkville a safe place where people will want to live and business will want to locate. We will have a positive impact, building a sense of community through projects that will continue to make Yorkville a better place. At this time there was a break for refreshments.. New Business: Chairman Peters stated the Cooperative Extension Services is conducting a needs assessment county-wide states and this should be completed in 1999. The members thought this could be a good resource to review for our area needs. Chairman Peters said she will keep the commission posted. D. Trumble announced a Technology training meeting on 1/26/99 (6:30PM-8:30PM) at the High School and all commission members are invited to attend. W. Ohare announce the Citizens Police Academy Graduation is on December 8, 1998 at the High School. L. Peters said she is attending and R. James said he is one of the graduates. Chief Graff announced that Carol Allen did not accept her appointment to the Commission and he will be contacting Mayor Johnson to find a replacement. Any suggestions will be appreciated and forward to Chief Graff or Mayor Johnson The next meeting agenda items will be to review the Review Goals and Objectives with the full membership & Census 2000 update. Next meeting will be January 7, 1999 at 5:45PM, at the Yorkville National Bank. Motion was,made by W. Ohare for adjournment, 2nd by R. James. Motion Passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:30PM.
