Citizen Comments:
Cross Lutheran representatives discussed their Lighthouse project which is to assist groups within
the community such as the city, high school, sheriff's office. Bob James asked the group about
what type of assistance such as providing space for groups or community programs. Mrs. Watson
says that idea can be explored. Then the discussion focused on use of their facility and Mrs.
Watson said they could use the new facility for storage because only half is being used as a gym.
Wanda Ohare discussed the idea of a clothing exchange to enhance the Kendall County Food
Pantry. LuAnne Peters asked how many members in their committee and they have about 20
members.
LuAnne Peters then started to discuss the Mayor's millennium project with the group. Another
project was Character Counts, Humanitarian Award and the Studs Terkel award. Probably the
project the commission would like to see get started would be the clothing pantry and to contact
Sylvia Kurtz and Rose Spears. Mrs. Watson and Mr. Fiala thought these were good ideas and
they will talk to their committee.
