be finished with training. He is hopeful to hire a new office in January. December 4 will
be a safety check in town. October Fest at the new Jewel-Osco went very well. Had
finger printing for children. Had a petting zoo as well. Good response from the public.
Working with the schools to put together an idi-kit. Montgomery has a new housing area
with 400 homes within the Yorkville school district.
City Council—Rose Spears spoke with J.Medlin of the food pantry
to have another food drive as the holidays deplete their supply very rapidly. Their doors
are opened from 8-l0am, Tues and Thurs each week. Also was mentioned if there was a
way to have financial assistance on city utilities (water)for those people who have lost
their jobs and are experiencing lost income.
Recreation Board—none
Library Board—none
School District— Schools are having conferences this week.
Everyone looking forward to a 4 day weekend.
Old Business: Vistors' Center—W. Ohare presented a more detailed list of
information and businesses to contact. She is concerned with the maintenance of the
center and the contact person yet to be named to oversee the center. These are questions
for the mayor to help with.
Street Naming—R.Kahle has a form to be sent to city, Ken-Corn,
and the post office for name verification. E. Madden has letter to send out to families of
nominated people. List is still being reviewed with continued discussion on who and
why the name can be used. Interviews have and will be conducted for finalization. Work
is completed on a long list of names already. E. Madden is also concerned about the
maintenance and continued updating of the street name list. Who, maybe the city clerk?
Wondering how list will be maintain and have growth to match the needed additions.
C.L.A.S.Y. —Still working well. One more year at least with
current funding.
